Satch:
alasta: I don't know why Apple bothered to get into the case business...

Umm, because they make money doing so???

Not if they spend a whole lot of money developing the product and only manage to achieve a tiny market share.

Proof?  Do you really think Apple would still be producing their own cases year after year if they weren't viable??

This is the first year that Apple have made their own iPhone cases.

I bought a lime green one a week ago. Already discoloured and gross. What a stupid product.

Anyone recommend a leather flip case that can hold a few credit cards?

I've had the Sena Hampton flip in the past and was ok but want to try something new http://www.senacases.com/apple/iphone-5-cases/hampton-flip/

There's a flip case that's made by AVS (seen it at Dick's) that looks quite nice.
I'd personally go for a BookBook by Twelve South.
Had one for my 4S, have one for my iPad2 and in all honsety, you'd be hard pressed to find better quality.

Thanks, will take at look at the Dick Smith ones http://search.dicksmith.co.nz/search?p=R&srid=S10-AUSYDR01&lbc=dse-nz&w=Mercury%20av&url=http%3a%2f%2fwww.dicksmith.co.nz%2fapple-iphone-accessories%2fmercury-av-leather-flip-wallet-iphone-5-black-dsnz-ea6154&rk=4&uid=940644799&sid=2&ts=ajax&rsc=8Q43SymaRUBZpCtY&method=and&isort=score&view=list

I like the idea of Bookbook cases but not sure how practical they would be...

The bookbook for the iPhone 5/s is more practical than the old one for the 4/s. Instead of sliding up to take photos, they now have a ready-made hole in the back for the camera.
They are just a tad over-priced.

Had a look at those AVS cases at Dick Smith, doesn't look like they have a slot for holding credit cards(doesn't say on the packaging and the sales guy wasn't sure). They also had the BookBook, looks cool but too much extra bulk for my taste.
