I found a way that works.  I downloaded Google Chrome on the Ipad and them just went to icloud.com and requested the Desktop Version.  Logged into the drive and can see my photos.

thanks for the tip, but that seems a REALLY awkward way to get a simple job done... mine seem to 'just work' so perhaps you need to leave it plugged in and charging to get them to synch properly the first time?

also, are you synching/backup to icloud or desktop? perhaps use your desktop via "wifi Synch" and that should synch them across properly? (thats how mine is set up)
