I can barely stifle my yawn over this. And I am an ANZ and iOS user.

Come on Westpac. Hopefully it won't take forever.
I've mentioned before I use a Westpac PayTag that I've put inside my phone case, so I can pay essentially the same way as with Apple Pay. But I am looking forward to, and would use often, Apple Pay on my watch.

Cheers,
Joseph

What's wrong with contactless cards that already exist? To need a $1200 phone to make a payment , vs a 5 cent piece of plastic doesn't do it for me. You still need a wallet when going out anyway.

You could buy my iphone 6 for a fraction of that...

Can be false economy though because it will be supported by apples iOS for 2 less years than the iphone 7. You also can't jailbreak it to keep it updated, as these banking apps can tell, and you can be responsible for any losses on the account when used on a rooted or jailbroken device.

I'm actually considering switching away from Westpac if they don't get their act together soon...

Probably will open a transaction account with ANZ because I seriously doubt ASB will setup Apple Pay either. Before any bank in nz had it they would all say "Apple pay isn't available in NZ yet but we will keep you informed with any updates", now when ANZ signed up they changed to "we're exploring this/keeping a close eye" aka you don't want to sacrifice your merchant charges

Take this with a grain of salt, but the banker who was looking after me today at my local ANZ said Apple Pay should be launching around the end of the month

I'm more excited for this than I should be, given that I need to spend money to utilize this service.

Nevertheless, as an owner of an iPhone 6 and an apple watch, pretty hyped for having quick access to my debit card.

Having issues adding my ANZ Visa (says not supported but it is), waiting for a call back from support. They said they are having a few teething issues.

The 'tech' person on TV3 this morning appeared to be explaining how this is something Apple has that Android doesn't ...

I guess I imagined using go-money on my Android.

So the ANZ site lists Countdown as a store that accepts this (along with BP, Burger King, Noel Leeming and The Warehouse). Does this mean Countdown accepts debit visa through contactless? Don't suppose anyone's done a weekly shop before work today to give this a go? Haha
