I second/third the above posters who have questioned why you're using a cable to transfer stuff in 2019.

Use iCloud or Dropbox (or one of the many alternatives) or get a Mac – iPhones are never going to work as seamlessly with Windows as they do on Mac.

michaelmurfy: Another thing. Ensure you’re using the ORIGINAL lightning cable. Third party cables cause issues (speaking from experience) and so I have an original one around for my PC.

^^^^^^ THIS.

I have faffed about with so many 3rd party cables, but from the 6 series upwards they changed the basic cable setup meaning 3rd parties suck unless they are specified as MFi compatible FOR THAT PHONE MODEL.

I only use original cables because the 3rd party ones don't work. Haven't checked for lint. Connection is not the issue. It connects fine but won't show me the photos. Maybe I had to wait a 5 - 10 mins for the photos to show up because there were so many photos.

Because it was plugged in for that long while I was fiddling with imazing, which could not load the photos, then crashed. Did not unplug during this time.

What I did find was the transfer speed was about 9MBps

Internet says I need to buy the very expensive lightning to usbc cable to get usb3 transfer speeds.
