Got to try it out in the sense that I got handed the phone for a bit to see how it feels. Software wise theres nothing different as it runs the ios as the others. The edges are a bit sharp, if you grip too tightly it might feel uncomfortable without a case. It was a pro max so stainless steel body, the regular one and mini use aluminium I think.

Camera was more detailed than my xs max but I didn’t delve too much in to advanced settings.

Basically a X/XS/11 styled after iphone 4 flat edge. Unless you’re after 5G or simply the latest model, theres nothing much to gravitate you to these except if you were coming from something like iphone7/8.

Thanks for that.

It is a bit more waterproof too.

Will see how 5g roll-out goes which I guess is the big change

Yes the 12 Pro max feels bigger in the hand to me, due to its shape.

Focus with the camera is noticeably faster, and much better in low light which often suits my use case. Lidar is fantastic. I'm blind so am using the people detection feature made possible by lidar, a bit of a gimmick for the most part at the moment, but once they pair it with the ability to recognise specific people it'll be very impressive.

No Spark 5G in Welly yet so haven't been able to take that for a spin.

LeatheryHawkeye:

Any feedback on iPhone 12 or 12 pro - or mini!?

Partner just got iPhone 12 (non-pro), but yet to setup.

I'm still on the X which has been great!

I've got the iPhone 12 mini and I absolutely love it. Haven't felt this good about the physical size of an iPhone since the 5S (and I've had them all other than the 8 series).

My only complaint is about the Apple leather cases, I returned mine a week after purchasing it. The leather cases this year cover the bottom of the phone, which means the swipe-up gesture is a little more difficult than going caseless. In previous years, the leather cases had a cut-out at the bottom (for this exact reason I'm guessing).
