I'm using the latest version, N95 as the agent and www.vodafone.co.nz as the APN. Works fine, although it errors on sending, but the MMS is received at the other end anyway.

Correct. The latest version of Swirly will download a profile for you that works iirc.

Okay, use the wizard to configure swirly MMS again.. Because www.vodafone.co.nz is what will be giving you the error.

Correction sorry, the phones APN is www.vodafone.co.nz, the APN that SwirlyMMS is using is live.vodafone.com and the MMS is vodafone.net.nz/pxtsend as per the wizards settings. I just tried it again now and it behaved. Although the other phone hasn't received it a couple of mins later yet...

Ah, it had gone into "emergency calls only" mode, waved it about and it came right and MMS received ok. Not sure what the previous error was for, but all is well now.

Aaroona:

Hey mate, did you get it going again?

No luck yet, after a couple of calls to the 0800 number and call back promises that never happened I was put on to Iphone support who tell me I was moved out of the PXT admin group (for what ever reason), they have logged a support job so I'll wait and see.

There were a couple of people complaining on the Swirly website they couldn't send through the VFNZ, I wonder if it has anything to do with people that already had a vodafone account  and moved onto the Iphone plan and people that signed up as a new contract. I signed up under a new contract/customer.

The support person seemed to think changes had been made to plan a month or so back which would seem to make sense.

hey short version - if you were not loaded to teh mms db ( and Iphone users were not ) then you couldn't receive mms - it wouls goto pxt world.
New system is in now and it dynamically validates customers on the fly, if it can't bill you - it will reject the message. Currently I see nothnig to stop iphones working - if fact we have a few here that work just fine on both jail broken and beta code.
Blackberrys on the other hand.... Grrrrr. :(

If you send and mms with a normal phone, and then switch you will be in the db for the next 90 days before you are repolled.
Please note however that mms goes through a content transcoder which will not work for the 3g iphone as no profile is currently avaliable. If you send a non conformant message to an iphone it will not be reformated to work like they are for other phones.

ok? cool.
