As of a few days ago unable to send MMS from the Iphone.

Swapping to a prepay sim allows pxt to be sent just not on the iphone plan.

I just don't get it - Its not as if we were getting anything for free Frown

WHY? WHY? WHY?

How are they going to bill you for MMS, on a plan that doesn't support MMS?

To be honest, this really doesnt surprise me. Oversea's it was done much earlier than now.

I could suggest ringing and saying you're using your simcard in a different phone? (I do it myself, because I use numberous phones in a week, I cant stand having the same one for more than a week)

But be prepared they'll probably say "go jump" in not so many words.

EDIT: Simply because you're on an iPhone plan..

If it was blocked at network level it would happen across prepay and on account.

and I don't see any reason why Vodafone would want to block it

True..

Who knows though, I mean it could be Apple pushing buttons - Because why would ATT do it?

But you are right, if it was blocked at the network level, it would be blocked all over Prepay and On Account.

It just sounds to me as though the 3G - Vodafone Life has been turned off..

I know that if you put your SIM card into another 3G phone that has pxt it will turn itself back on automatically, so that could be tried..?

Thanks John for your input - Didn't think of it like that.

Trying that one, I thought I would play dumb with the CSR first, although I never got a call back from her as promised (Although i was called back and questioned on the service I had received from the CSR haa funny)

AT&T are blocking it but most of the others (from what I've read) havn't yet, maybe they'll start blocking in time.

I just don't get it though - I would have thought income is income!?!?

I tried the sim in another phone and it sent but anything sent to it back as a text message, where as the prepay sim in the Iphone allowed txts to be sent and received...

Possibly Apple have MMS comming in a firmware update sometime soon and they don't want any piggybank apps tagging along.. Who knows!

income maybe income.
but apple will be apple. (assuming it's them of course behind this whole "block PXT messenging" situation.)

Like John said though, it doesnt look like system wide change. So if the CSR isnt any help, chuck your SIM card into another 3G phone that has pxt (just your ol' nokia or samsung or something) and it should automatically enable it self. Try sending a pxt, then put your simcard into your iPhone again and it should (at least it did for me) work again.

Also, when you ring, you could also just say "hi, I need my Vodafone live/PXT settings turned on" and they should just do it. That's all I do.

If you're talking about the internet APN (under settings > general > network >cellular network) then this doesnt matter.
Mines set to www.iphone-vodafone.net.nz (which doesnt work because I dont have a data plan)

all you need to set is the one in swirly MMS. which are the settings above.
