Apple do do it with the power button on the iPad Air, but yeah I don't see Touch ID returning to the premium iPhones.

USB-C charging, no notch, same chassis, I’d be happy, every other upgrade would be a bonus.

My 2020 SE the battery is ok....just.  Not sure if I should spring for a 2022 SE

There isn't much of a difference between the 2, it mainly just has the newer processor, but the SE 2020 should be supported for iOS updates for years to come, and it is still very fast. They are still supporting the SE 1st gen from 2016 (although this is the last year). The problem is that batteries in these smaller iphones only seem to last a little over 2 years, and replacement is relatively  costly compared to the second hand device value, and it's inconvenient if you don't live near a service centre area.

MrGadget: While decoding Apple event invites is fraught with issues…
Kinda seems space like - satellite-ish….

Maybe something to do with the always on display on the new iphone pro models. Maybe it will have a space theme for it? IMO always on display is a great feature, have had it on my samsung note for years.
I think that is going to be the main feature for it. Maybe some form of night photography or videos may also be a feature as the cameras are now one of the main selling features.

the 2022 seems to last a little longer than 2020 when I had it. With masks still required at most places, I find it easier to whip out the 2022 vs my personal 13 pro. The processor is wicked.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

Partner has an iPhone X.
She is concerned about increasing weight and heft of the iphone.
As she says it used to be a phone with a camera, now it's a camera with a phone.
Since iphone 10, it doesn't slide into your pocket easily because of the camera bumps.

I guess that is what users want now.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

I was hoping to go!

All serious, currently sporting a iPhone 13. Brilliant device that has thrusted me into the World of Apple and away from Google\Samsung\Android and a Microsoft Windows ecosystem; I type this on a MacBook Pro.

If I had done more research I would have opted for the iPhone13 Pro and, by the rumours doing the rounds the iPhone14 Pro will likely be the new flagship phone that comes accompanied with the latest kit. The LIDAR sensor, 8k recording etc.

I'll probably trade in the 13 and opt for a 14

Will be interesting to see if the rumor that only the 14 pro line will be getting an updated bionic chip while the standard 14 line will get last years ends up being true or not.

Just spitballing here, but surely I can't be the only person that would rather see the newer iPhones have the backside thickness matched to the camera bump depth, and have a larger battery installed in this extra space.

This would make the back of the phone completely flat (like the iPhone 4/5 etc), which I found quite handy, and meant the camera surrounds didn't get scratched up.

The leaked photos of iPhone 14's camera bump looks CHONKY.

It's most likely going to be related to the T-Mobile announcement of the Starlink partnership for global coverage via satellite.

Currently on an iPhone 8 which doesn't perform badly from its age but the battery life is not great (of course, I could also replace the battery and maybe use it for another year)

Sooo interested to see what the 14 Pro brings and if I'll consider buying one

From what I have heard it is mainly going to be a big camera upgrade, and AOD. I heard the 14 non pro may have the same chip as last year partly to do with the chip shortages. Guessing the pro will USB C, not sure about the non pro.
