got mine about 2.35.  From Apple.  I think direct from Apple is the only way to guarantee day 1 delivery (although I have never bought a day 1 iPhone before on delivery - I did buy the XS on day 1 but that was because I happened to be in Sydney the day it released.

 Should be here tomorrow :)

My 15P arrived from Spark on launch day - guessing it’s first in first served. Apple stock comes from Sydney, so any issues with customs or DHL, means it can always get punched out a day or two.

Launch day iPhone apple.co.nz orders are actually shipped locally, not from Sydney as is typical for Apple products. They do a big consolidation of orders, de-consol it in Auckland. Ingram Micro so a lot of the local logistics in this scenario. Non-launch day orders wil ship from Sydney or maybe even China.

Must be a fairly recent change. My 12 in 2020 was shipped from Sydney - didn’t get it until the Monday for whatever logistic reasons.

Are we sure on this? Mine have always come from Sydney (including last year).

Interestingly my Apple Watch left Hong Kong yesterday and will be with me shortly. Haven't seen that route for a launch device in years (other than customised MacBooks).

I can't be sure about 2024, but the last few years, yes. They have a huge consolidation to Auckland, arrives earlier in the week, gets deconsol'ed, Apple orders separated and those for carriers (2D, Spark, One). Even the Apple orders were delivered by New Zealand Post, not DHL. The Apple item can still be tracked on the DHL site but there are missing events. This year may have been different based on timing etc.

Order a phone now though and it will come from Sydney, or direct from China if backordered.

JEDENZED: Unless it’s shipping from an NZ holding point today, I ain’t getting it tomorrow…

Sounds like you don’t order from Apple often 😎

Just to confirm with this, the last 3 phones I have purchased from Apple on Pre-order have always arrived on Launch day, regardless of what the tracking says.

I am likely (with them making me cancel and re-order mine with One over an area code) in a 2-8 weeks holding pattern as well. At least I have a text saying the new order is fine. We can wait in limbo together.

My Pro Max 256gb Titanium (ordered at 8.30am on Saturday via the 2Degrees website) was sitting in my letterbox this afternoon.

I hadn't received any shipping notification / tracking, and the package was marked 'Signature'.

Might be worth checking mail boxes for anyone else that ordered via 2Degrees.
