I did a quick search and found a few articles saying it was $799. My receipt says $899 but I have the 128 GB model.

Edit 2: It looks like the price went up after launch. I stopped following the price since I already own one :)

I found a screenshot. Essentially, the 16e replaced the 14, and the SE is discontinued.

My iPhone is an 11.

I will NOT buy any new Apple products for the foreseeable future, nor any other American brands.

If my iPhone dies, and it can not be fixed I will buy a 2nd hand one. Likewise any of my other Apple hardware.

I have zero US subscriptions, but I do now pay $ for proton mail for my personal stuff. Gmail can keep my spam addresses, they are throw away anyway.
No Amazon any more, I buy direct from EU, UK, Oz myself.

The USAs suggest issue will be once people get used to buying elsewhere, its a habit they will continue, especially where trust is concerned.

Maybe in 4 years time I will have new things and won't go back either... I have been a Mac user since the 512KE and have an M3 MBP, so It is what I know

buy I have Raspberry Pi's now...so who knows.

if someone purchased a se3 in the last few months, I an sure many would have preferred to pay the difference to to the new model which is far better in most ways apart from the size. But I can see it being discounted when the iPhone 17 gets released

That was my very first thought as well. But to be fair it's not just NZ that will be challenging -- look at Australia and the US with lots of marginal rural coverage across a large land mass. Will be very interesting to see how the Apple modem handles that.

2degrees has 2x carriers but both in different bands (i.e. 1xU900 and 1xU2100) which I'm not sure is a supported configuration for DC-HSPDA?

Probably about the majority. I only mentioned it as it's a strange omittance as if we're going to remove some UMTS features... might as well just make it a LTE/NR device and make a push to get carriers to hurry up and set the point in stone.

2degrees yes only runs U900 (as does One NZ) and Spark only runs U850 by memory... I don't think U2100 exists anymore unless you go to specific countries like the Bahamas.

I'm less worried about that, as most of the development of the C1 chip comes from Germany. 😉

Apparently it won't have the more accurate 'find my' feature for finding airtags where it shows you the direction the airtag is. That seems a petty feature to omit, but I do recall that older iPhone don't have this feature and you needed a new phone to get it.

Do you really think Apple is spending all this money to ‘forget’ a ludicrous UWB feature? Just engrave C2 on the chip, enable the function (and possibly other functions) and the feature is there for the higher models. They also release the core count of the GPU between 4 and 6. You should have a little imagination. The unlocked satellite function is just so that the subscription model can be established on a broader basis. Apple's tiered pricing strategy has been around for a long time. 😎
