I had the same problem. It fixed itself when I went somewhere with no Telecom reception and restarted, it picked up the Vodafone network again and reset the carrier name back to VF.

?? The link does work? It downloads a file called 'Vodafone_nz.ipcc.zip' and in OSX it auto unzips it to 'Vodafone_nz.ipcc'

Well I'm at the pub, anyway who's in Dunedin area and keen to go find a lotcation with no xt signal and turn our iphones off and on get crazy and see what happens!!

The original carrier file which you will have to option restore is (on a mac) at /Users/[your user name]/Library/iTunes/iPhone Carrier Support

Btw, if you find a non reception area in DUD let us know; even my GF's house which got 0 to 1 bar on voda gets 4 to 5 on XT.

I just tryed xt sim in iphone then put vodafone sim back in and carrier is back on vodafone. FIXED WAHOO. But i dont know why? Any one got any clues to why this has fixed itself all of a sudden?

installed 3.0 OS.
fixed the carrier back to vodafone.

it will probly get broken again when i switch SIM's...
we will test that tomorrow...
