James Bond:

Telecom NZ AWOL

This slide is from before the new phone was actually announced so could it possibly be just a list of the current providers of the iPhone 3G, rather than who will also be selling the iPhone 3GS?

Also, when would Vodafone or Telecom likely announce which one of them is going to be selling the new version?

I think whats going on here is that they are mainly targeting iPhone 2G owners and owners of other devices. Most users of the 3G are in the U.S. and have 2 year contacts - expect a major update next year when those contracts will be coming to a end.

No fm radio? Same plastic casing... I was holding out for those too. Still might have to get me one.

It will be interesting when Vodafone announce their information and plans to sell the new iphone, and even if they will update the current plans.
Thats something to watch over the next couple of weeks.

No I'm talking about the current '3G'. At the keynote they said they're keeping the current 8GB version going alongside the new models, and the US on-contract pricing is dropping from $199 to $99. That should have a knock-on effect on the out-of-contract pricing. The new pricing is effective immediately apparently. Voda NZ website hasn't changed yet though.

Interesting... the NZ apple store is back up, but when you click on the iPhone it no longer tells you to shop at Vodafone. In fact, the information about where to buy is missing entirely:

http://store.apple.com/nz/browse/home/shop_iphone/family/iphone?mco=MTE2OTU

Check that out, then delete the 'nz' and add 'au' -- see the difference? Something's afoot!! My guess is they're waiting for XT to announce it, then they'll add the info!! WOOT!

What Frequencies does it run on. Is it like the old version that will run better on Telecom or are they putting out 2 versions (850 and 900mhz)?

iPhone 3GS NZ release date is set for 9th of July. It's a staggered release around the world.
