DL speed is very different now. Now I easily get around 2700kps any time during the day. Voda offer very very limited 3G coverage for iPhone. You will experiece dropback to 2G every time you signal bar drops to 3 bars. That was why I forced my iPhone to 3G only.
I have to switch my iPhone back to 2G and then back to 3G to get the faster speeds about 116kbs D/L if I move from one part of the city to another area. Does anyone else have to to that?
Are any of you guys turning your phones off during the day or at night?
I used to get over 1000k every single time I did speed test on Voda. I wonder why you guys are getting that low speed everywhere else. I live in rangiora, I used to get about 3 bars oF signal. More oftn than not, it got no signal. Maybe that's because my iPhone was locked to 3G only. But now, my iPhone is 3.0 now, and I don't know how to force it to 3G only.

Doesnt help you, But, in Auckland, I sometimes get that same result.
Had the 3GS since Tuesday and have run various tests around Wellington CBD. Almost EVERY single test is identical - Download of around 115kbps and upload the same. Nothing higher than this.
About a month ago on my old 3G I use to get fluctuations for Download speeds from about 60kbps - 900kbps.
Having said that, I think it's widely recognised (not by Vodafone but by the network users) that the Wellington CBD 3G data network has become a joke.

I used to get that result as well. The reason was because our iPhone doesn't pick up 3g signal very well. It drops to 2g when it can't get strong 3g signal. So everytime you access Internet, your iPhone will search for 3g signal first. If It doesn't get strong signal it will switch to 2g. So when it's switching the signal, you can only get very low speed. It's very strange that upload speed is always faster is partly because of this. That was why I locked my iPhone to 3G only. And download speed was maintained at over 1000k EVERY time. You have to switch to telecom to get higher speed. I get over 2700k here
I posted this long time ago. Have a look if you interested. It worked on iPhone 2.2. Now I'm using 3.0. It might not work. But worth a try if you want high speed download
