Itr0nic: so does any iphone work , as i wanting to get one and put it on xt but am unsure on what one to get , do i get the normal one or the unlocked one

All iPhones bought in New Zealand from Vodafone or Apple are unlocked. All iPhone 3G and 3G S work on Telecom. The original iPhone doesn't work on Telecom because it's 2G only.
