Bee: For me the biggest FAIL for the Ipad is lack of Flash player = no playing farmville LOL

I think there is a Farmville app in the app store isn't there?

Back to the original question: There is no camera and that makes it fail (in my books).

Bee: For me Im curious too - they look cool and all but really what can you do with it?

Why get an Ipad if you already have a laptop?

I think the biggest fail is the lack of SMS on this device. What happens on the 3G model when you run out of data?

If you using 2Degrees you can send an SMS requesting another data pack from the iPad. Its one of the SIM applications on the 2Degrees SIM card.

The iPad is just all hype, it's underpowered and overpriced by heaps. Why get one of these if you can get a good laptop for the same price?

Us humans are weird.

My laptop is mostly redundant now, only use it for high end games. I don't have to worry about software glitches, application hangs, viruses, booting, rebooting (!), or lugging the laptop around. And I disagree about it being underpowered too, since it's built to do exactly what it does, and it does that very well.

Millions of humans really like it. Leave us alone ;-)

Us non-Apple types will never understand.

I will wait for the Acer tablet or even the Iconia. :)

Those buyers are just bots converted by the all mighty Apple.
I am immune to their selling powers, and refuse to buy such crap.

SMS topups are only a Vodafone thing. If you're on 2degrees or XT SMS isn't used as a method of topup anyway, no matter what mobile device you use.

On Vodafone your usage and topups are managed by a web page. On 2D they're a STK application using USSD, and on XT you simply make a phonecall to topup which is the norm for topping up a prepaid device anyway.
