Charge has shown on my credit card now too (had been being held since ordering). Under 'Global Collect Apple Australia'

The wait is nearly over :-)

I guess ANZ have abbreviated it then, because as I posted just before you did - mine simply says "Global Colle".

For the obsessive types among us that need an info fix while waiting for a bloody shipping status update - there's an interesting, well written and *very* thorough (read long) rundown article of opinions from a tech blogger who has been using both of the new generation S devices for the last 12 days which can be found here

I'd say from looking at that screenshot it's pretty clear that your delivery estimate window is between the 9th and 16th of October. Not sure where your confusion lies? Did you actually order 2 days after preorders started or dos it take 2 days for your order to be confirmed?

Well I talked to Apple on the 0800 number on the 12th but I think order was confirmed on the 14th because I made the mistake of picking financing. I should've just payed using credit card. My question is, if Apple charged a $1 to confirm the GE Money thing was valid on the 12th, why did it say Awaiting payment for 2 days.

Obviously I'm not aware of or privy to the particulars of your transaction but I was advised over the phone (and I think it stated it somewhere on the preorder page too) that paying via finance would take and additional 24+ hours to process and orders wouldn't be officially placed until the finance had come through. This means that your early action on the 12th was for naught... I can only speculate that this is perhaps because Apple cannot confirm available live balances on GE finance cards in the same way that they can with bank issued credit cards?

Either way, you're right though, paying by credit card in the first place i(f it were an option) would've eliminated - or at least mitigated - your risk of delays.

I ordered mine today, and received confirmation from Spark that it will deliver on 25 September (or close to that).

Same experience here.

Mine took 3 days so I will only see mine on 12th - 19th Oct.

Next time won't be a drama as I will just use the GEM Visa anyway.

One interesting fact though is that the 18 months interest free ended on 15th so you may (as I do) only have 6 months interest free.

Not a drama for me as I will have it paid off by Nov. but worth checking out.

No shipping notification yet...I'm comforting myself with the thought that since these phones are soooooo much faster, they'll take less time to get here :).

I'll eat my hat if these pre-orders are coming from China. My money is on them shipping from Sydney by lunchtime today. Shall we have a sweep? :o)
