Got an update on my iPhone 15 Pro AirPoints order.
Got DHL tracking today, it left Aussie yesterday and is currently processing in an Auckland depot.
TBH, I thought they'd ship direct from China, maybe they only do that with some custom Mac models.
Anyway, hope everyone else still waiting, gets an update soon. Took 40 days till mine shipped (ordered 27 Sept).
Edit,
Just looking at the shipping times, maybe pure coincidence, but I called AirNZ last night at just before 6pm NZ time. First tracking update from DHL was 16:36 Sydney time, pretty much ~40mins after I made the call.
The support person was very friendly and said they'd contact Apple about it, and at 6pm emailed me asking to confirm my address. No clue if maybe Apple had paused the order due to an address mixup or if it's just a standard post call check before contacting a supplier.
Either way, it's finally shipped.
My 44mm series 6 stainless steel started shutting down due to battery failure, so I decided to order a new 45mm series 9 stainless steel which arrived on Thursday. Since then I've had the chance to do a 1km pool swim and 17km run.
My main observation is that the larger display makes it much easier to read the numerals when you have five data fields during an activity. Otherwise it's a very similar experience to my series 6, which is probably a reflection of how much functionality was added to that old watch via software updates. One annoyance is that I had turned off the 1km distance alerts on the old watch but they were enabled on the new watch despite all of my other settings carrying over, so I had to spend a bit of time figuring out how to turn that back off. It will be interesting to see how it performs when I start getting back into open water swimming over the next couple of months but, again, I'm not expecting it to be any different from the solid performance that I got out of my series 6.
Do I regret not spending a bit extra for an Ultra 2? Not really. My wrists are too small for the Ultra, and I think it looks unsightly for formal outings. My competitive running is limited to half marathons so battery life isn't a major problem, and I don't run in cities enough to need dual band GPS, but I'll admit that the action button would be useful for competitive events.
