Did some calculations, and despite the handset discount on the Vodafone $100 p/mth plan (which PC World worked out as the best value), it's still cheaper by more than $500 over the 24 months to stay on my current plan and buy a handset outright. I'm not willing to take that big a hit just to get the phone earlier, so I'm either ordering from Apple or marching into the first place to offer handset-only sales. If it weren't for the 3GB data I get on my old VF plan, I'd be tempted to jump ship in protest of them being greedy so-and-so's. I wonder if they'll end up with sales being less than anticipated because people (like me) are balking at the requirement to sign up to their plans?
