jeffnz: amazing the lengths we humans will go to get something. This is only the beginning after the orders it will be the moans of why its taking so long to get delivered. Must be good for prozac sales

Not to mention the whining about why android trolls are posting in iOS forums. For the lulz of course!

I'm not a troll at all was just making an observation in a forum as I'm entitled to do and I don't see anyone else whining except you.

The same happens whenever new tech like this comes out so was making an observation not getting at Apple people, people choose a phone that suits them as one size doesn't fit all. If we only had one choice it would be a sad world.

Group hug!  Yes, competition is a great thing. It's the waiting that gets ya ....

I think I'm going to go and try a Telecom store while I'm waiting, and see if they have what I'm after.  The waiting is killing me!

Just wondering why Apple Nz closes their store like this in the day time. Why not have the new store ready to go and then at the appropriate time point a flag to the new one. Taking it down for hours seems very unprofessional to me..

I agree - I wanted to browse accessories etc while I'm waiting but I can't.  Seems counter-productive as I'm far less likely to buy something else to go with my phone now.

Having worked in a smaller NZ owned businesses it does not make sense so you are quite right.

however in larger organisations, change management is almost considered an art where all the checks and balances, approvals and sign offs are obtained for a window of deployment. To deviate or have a different change plan for every market is probably not that easy to co-ordinate

Thanks for the tips guys, headed down to the Lambton Quay Telecom store and picked up a couple of phones on open contract. I was provided with fast, excellent service and no fixed term contract (just have to pay the phone off if you want to leave). If you're looking for a "gold" phone, they only have them in 16gb in that store.

And They're up!  And I've purchased :)  On the Apple store, 2-3 weeks shipping.  Still going to go to Telecom store and see if they have what I want now though.
