I am not fussed about not getting it till Monday. Just don't like being BSed to or Apple simply not providing up-to-date information, whichever the case may be. This sort of rubbish might be par for the course for Vodafone and Spark but I truly expected better from Apple.

I'm not very happy about this at all. It's not Apple's fault that the local courier contractors are hopeless, barely literate and known to sign for items that are not properly delivered etc. But they are representing to me that my item will arrive tomorrow, yet I have very little confidence that it will arrive. Do I work from home or do I go to work in the office and risk missing my item and having the local courier contractor shaft me?

Does Apple ship iPhones with TNT from Sydney like they do with a lot of their stuff being sent to NZ? I would expect that we would at least have a tracking number for the initial part of the shipment, even if our awful couriers who do the 'last mile' part of the delivery are bound to mess up or prolong the delivery somehow.

It's DHL from Sydney then courier Post to door. At least it is for me anyway at the top of the South Island.

Same here still preparing for shipment. I'm not worried though. It'll be here tomorrow.

It's just a tracking update. It has shipped. As per my Apple Support Profile page it shows the 2 7 Plus' I ordered now assigned to my devices and their serial numbers.

Mine just changed too! Got the DHL shipping number, and the earliest tracking info was dated Monday 12th, with ETA for tomorrow, so fairly confident it'll turn up in the morning :)

Mine has been updated, it says it shipped on the 12th, looks like they just held back the notification. Text notification said it will be delivered by tomorrow

As has mine

I was going to say, the phones are usually shipped before it changes from preparing for shipment to shipped. And just the same as last year, the demand has crashed the DHL tracking url

Mine is already with my local courier Post in Blenheim. Arrived at 1:47pm today. Get the AWB number from the broken DHL link address and paste it into courier Post website tracker. The AWB is at the end of the broken URL starts with a 4

A very positive development for me is that my item has shipped and it's going via DHL. Whilst the local Courierpost contractor isn't perfect, he is still a mile better than the moron who works for NZ Couriers, TNT courier's agent. Between TNT and NZC, they have stuffed up so many of my previous Apple-related deliveries. This is the second delivery in a row where TNT has not been used by Apple. I wonder if TNT has lost the contract? If so, good riddance.

DHL/CourierPost have been doing the deliveries since at least when the Apple TV released last year

PoHq: Restore from backup or set up as new device? What do you say Geekzoners?

I'm doing an iTunes backup (way quicker than iCloud). I don't find iOS devices to get bogged down over time requiring an annual reset.

Ive been doing backups since iphone 4 but I think I want to run my 7 fresh.

Is there anyway to just take over contacts and not all the email and txts and apps?

They should sync through iCloud on a new device.
