I got used to Face ID really quickly when I got my X and actually don't miss Touch ID at all

I have a 6S for work and find touch ID feels like a step backwards now.

And today concludes to my 2 day saga to get a nicely working XS :( I returned the unit I had received as a replacement for a refund today.

Personally I'm disappointed in the audio quality of calls and the slightly loose silent switch on these phones. The latter being less important. My iPhone 7 has neither of these problems, neither does my 5S. I could have lived with the switch, but the audio slight buzz/vibrating sound was just not up to scratch. 

I'm hoping it's not a wide spread issue, but either way, not encouraging and I didn't feel comfortable dropping 2K on something less than perfect (within reason).

For now I'm back on the iphone 7, still does well, but damn the XS over the last couple of days has spoiled me. FaceID, I miss you.

Sidenote: I have discovered that some of the series 3 silicone and plastic covers fit the series 4 watches.

I know weird!

Its a snug fit and the side speaker is covered but doesn't seem to hinder the volume.

Yeah, the only scenario I hate is when my phone is flat on a desk (and I don't want to pick it up) I have to lean over to unlock it.

That's where touch ID came in handy for me

WolfChop: I will say the improvements on the Xs are quite nice (Face ID, gestures, dual speakers, cameras) but are they $1900 better than an iPhone 6S Plus? Debatable. It definitely does seem like mobile technology has plateaued, at least until a new breakthrough. I can’t see myself upgrading for quite a few years.

For now, I’ll keep using it. But I feel as though It feels mainly the same as my 6S Plus. Might consider selling it off later if I feel it’s not worth it.

Does anyone find touch ID often doesn't work for up to 20ish seconds on the Mojave lock screen? I've been running it since developer beta 1 and this issue has not gone away (lots of others have though).

I have noticed that my iPhone really wants to be on the 2.4 GHz network on my Wifi.

 

Only way to make it switch to the 5G network was to reboot the Amplifi.

 

Not sure if its the Amplifi being stupid, or if its the iPhone XS Max.

 

Do you have band steering enabled on the AP(s)? (I'm assuming Amplifi is similar to Unifi in that regard)

Yea never had an issue with my iPhone X Face ID with sunglasses on.

Surely that's not very secure?

Band steering was enabled. Have turned it off and power cycled the Amplifi, still same problem. When I was next to the Amplifi it went on 5GHz, but as soon as I moved into my office (5 meters away in another room), it went on 2.4GHz again!
