Thanks, that puts my mind at ease a bit! This is the first time I've bought from Apple instead of via Spark.

Pumpedd:

Had my airpods for a while now and while I use them most days, I far prefer the ordinary Apple airbuds for qualkity. I have found quality to be an issue, the case has started to yellow in places, and they do drop out a bit.

I never buy 1st gen,as the 2nd gen usually fixes most peoples complaints. The new ones look to have wireless charging built into the case which is an advantage. But if I was spend that sort of money , I would buy proper headphone. I stick to either the normal apple ear buds which I find to have good sound, or sony, as they only last for around 6 months before either one headphone stops working or I lose them. The yellowing is one reason Apple should imo release black ones, and also would match the new iphone 10 which has an all black front.

Conflicted as to upgrade to the 8 or 8 plus - difference is less than $10pm. Considerations are (relatively) small hands for a male, plus pocket sizes etc.

If you have a pocket - go PLUS. if you don't have a pocket, don't get PLUS. Plus is miles miles miles better.

Has anyone that ordered from Apple had a shipping notification yet? Mine's still sitting on "preparing to ship" but will supposedly be here tomorrow. Do they come from inside NZ now?

You'll get your shipping notice tonight, around 8:30 PM. If Apple say you're getting your phone tomorrow, you'll get it tomorrow.

Apple are AMAZING at shipping stuff from Aussie - I imagine they have some deal with NZ Customs as their stuff flies through clearance and straight onto courier trucks.

With that said, I have found with prior years of iPhone pre-orders that they ship the phones to NZ ahead of time but you don't get the shipping notice until Thursday night anyway.

Thanks for that - I was getting worried too. I assumed that they were shipping direct from China and thought there's no way it will get here tomorrow.

Hopefully the Sydney stock will come direct to Wellington and not via Auckland because the fuel situation could delay things.

Be funny if the "fuel crisis" causes them to be delayed

My order is still on preparing for shipment. Maybe tomorrow isn't happening.

I've been checking every few hours on my phone to see if my 8+ has started shipping, so I guess I'm not the only one wondering. :-)

I've always bought my Apple devices direct from Apple, it's rather scary looking at the list of devices they have on record that I have purchased.

To the others in the thread taking about wireless charging, apparently they are using the Qi wireless standard.
I have bought a couple of Qi kits and a fully assembled base to try out the charging from Bangood.
I'll be 3D printing some enclosures for the kits when I confirm they work.

I hope they deliver tomorrow, it's coming to work.
I mean then I'll have a bit of time to play with it before the world ends when the planet that's hiding behind the moon hits us on Sunday or whenever....lol

Mine's now changed to "shipped" and the tracking shows that it was actually dispatched yesterday. It looks like it's just taking Apple a while to update the statuses.

Mine too has been shipped, it seems like it was actually shipped 2 days ago and it's already in NZ.

Me too. It's showing as arriving in Auckland early this morning, so if DHL can find some fuel for their plane then I guess it'll come to Wellington overnight for delivery sometime tomorrow.

Waiting, waiting, waiting for the Vodafone shop to open at 9am so I can pick mine up.  LOL  who said Millennials are the impatient generation?
