Apple has a 14 day return window, no questions asked
Thanks dfnt, I’ve literally just gotten off the phone with them and had this confirmed directly. That certainly makes it a bit easier for me to bite the bullet!
Please note that APPLE has this policy. That does not mean that whatever store you might be looking at getting the watch from has the policy. You would be fine from the Apple Online Store but may want to ask the people at the store you are trying to get the watch from if it is not online.

I ordered an XS max 256gb from noel leeming mid last week --- I wonder how long it will take to restock? Phoned noel leeming but they have no idea, so could be a month or two. And, they take the money out of your account immediately, unlike amazon.

Yep, noted Brumfondl, appreciate that extra bit of clarity. As resellers, I doubt that 3rd party retailers like WHS, NL, HN or JB would have quite as forgiving an exchange policy on the basis of “change of mind” (but I’d be happy to be told otherwise). JB do offer a 2 year warranty as opposed to the standard 1 year affair, for purchases over a certain value (maybe $400?) which is worth some consideration...
Only the Apple Watch Edition version comes with a two-year limited warranty. All the rest are one year only as taken from https://support.apple.com/en-nz/watch/repair/service#watchcost

Thanks, nice to know.

I stand corrected. All that is also irrelevant as you have protection from the Consumer Protection Act

Consumer guarantees act
I wouldn’t say it’s irrelevant. From past experience, Apple has been so easy to deal with in regards to faulty items. A 2 year manufacturer warranty (especially with Apple) means you’re going to get results hassle free.
I understand the CGA is law, but not having to use it is even better in this instance so imo it doesn’t make it irrelevant.

Is anybody experiencing a colour shift with their iPhone XS? My iPhone XS display looks really warm when looking at it straight on, but tilt it and the colour temperature turns more cooler.
And this is with true tone off. When true tone is on, it looks straight up yellow.
On my iPhone 6S Plus, there is no colour shift whatsoever, and it's not a warm colour either.
I've had a Galaxy s8 and Note 8 before so I'm familiar with OLED panels, but they never exhibited such weird colour shifts like this.
It is disappointing because everything I look at has this yellow hue to it. Normally I wouldn't make a big deal out of it but this thing cost me a lung.
Though I doubt this is a big enough issue that PBTech would allow me to make a return -_-

That's an OLED thing. It's just how the display tech functions. Not an iPhone issue.

Ah I see. I think I'm so used to Apple's LCD panels that the warmer colours are throwing me off. Looks like I'm looking at everything through a yellow filter.
I might sell my XS and wait for the XR instead, if that is the case. The blacks and the contrast on the OLED panel is really nice though.

Check and see if Night Shift is turned on, and if so if the Warmth is turned up all the way. You can ease it back if you don't like it.
