Hmm.. OK that is strange with my Mrs's iPhone 4 then - the Software Update options still only shown an update to IOS 6.1 beta 4...!

Was it on a beta release to start with?

Having the 'LTE Option' won't mean anything apart that there is a switch in the settings. Doesn't mean that Telecom will have a full LTE network for you to use. Yes, there is a closed private trial going on at the moment in parts of the country, you won't be able to connect to it.

No it was on 6.0.1 release version. I also thought that you can only download beta versions if you have an Apple Developer subscription - in any case I don't even have the Developer subscription so am puzzled as to why I am seeing that option.

Hi - am still on 6.0.1 but would appreciate hearing from someone on 6.1 as to whether the experience in Apple's Mail app has reverted to the old ways of 'swoosh' sound once the email has actually sent, or whether it still makes the sound as soon as you tap the 'send' button (preferred the old way). Thanks.

Cheers,
Mike

Clicknz: Seems to make the sound as soon as I hit send. No way I can see to revert it.

Ah, thanks for that... yeah, kind of annoying if sending any sort of attachment it was good to have the 'swoosh' as confirmation of email being sent. Now it only lets you know that you've tapped the send button and you have to  watch the progress bar at the bottom of the app window to see if/when it gets sent....sigh...

Cheers,
Mike

Might not be 6.1 related but thought I might put it here as there are replies from users on Telecom iPhone 5. If you turn of Celleular Data and 3G on iPhon3 5 on Telecom, it goes to No Service, this doesn't happen on Vodafone. Shouldn't iPhone stil get 2G Network on Telecom too just like Vodafone?

Telecom is 100% 3G. There's no old 2G technology on Telecom network. IF you turn 3G OFF on your handset it won't connect to anything.

3G is voice and data, not data only.

DON'T go there if you have an ipad 2. Apparently there is an issue downloading the file and affects some ipad 2 users. It put mine into recovery mode and no way out via itunes. Had to download from another site then instal via itunes. Was worrying but I understand they are working on it.

mattwnz: Does IOS6.1 add siri to the ipad 2 yet? Since the mini is the same specs and has siri, I would expect siri to be eventually added.

Why would apple do that, there is no incentive to upgrade if you can get all the new features on an old device!

Apples job is to encourage you to upgrade your device as often as possible, the same as any consumer electronic device manufacturer.

The main reason I purchased a Ipad4 was I wanted Siri, voice guidance maps and a few other features.

They have in the past released features from the newer devices in IOS updates. Streetview in maps initially wasn't on the 2nd gen ipod touch nor in the IOS updates until a few updates later.

I understand that siri is being released gradually, so it doesn't overload their servers. I would think they would want more people using siri as they can. Otherwise people on the ipad 2 could use googles system, where the traffic then goes to google. I do think that it will eventually be added, as initially they said it wasn't there because it couldn't handle it. But that has proven to be false with the ipad mini having the same specs as the ipad 2, yet the mini has siri. Perhaps t will be added after they actually stop selling the ipad 2, so people don't buy it instead.
