Umm?? When I buy something I care about how much it is, how it performs and maybe how it looks. The comparison seems pretty fair to me.

(TBH though I do think that trying to put any phone that size in your pocket, front or back, is not really very smart... and it sounds like that's where people are having real-world issues with the iphone bending?)

tdgeek: I'd like to know if this is staged, real, or an issue at all. Off course a thin gadget will bend if sufficient force applied. Is that real life? I cannot see a 6 Plus bending in usual day to day situations. Its hard to know who to trust when these stories surface

Warm sustained repeated pressure will bend alloy that thin in your pocket over a period of time, the body heat is enough of an additional stress to facilitate a warp.

Bugger really, but hey..go for the smaller phone if people are pocketing their phone all the time.

I still struggle to see why there'd be an ysurprise at this...it's thin, aluminium, lightweight and being put in warm, tight, bendy places.

Other phones are similarly sized, but thicker and therefore a little less likely to warp.

I've had a 5 for nearly 2 years and to be honest, it's lived in a case its whole life...hence it's never bent, never warped, never broken.

I'll be doing the same with my 6, when I eventually get one.

Same guy who did the plus and Note bend video on youtube has done one for most of the flagships now.
The plus is still the only ones that bends, the i6 appears to be as unbendable as the rest but that plus.....

I suspect it does bend.

It sounds like a design flaw I don't see it being a deal breaker (ask the other 10 000 000+ orders to date)

Get a case.

If I am laying down $1000+ I'll put the silly thing in a case regardless of brand.

(Actually my phone cost me less than $500 and it still goes in a case.)

Should solve any bending issue.

For everyone saying put a case on it this will only make a large phone larger, and having a thin plastic shell is never going to stop it bending being exposed to constant and warm pressure of repeatedly bending. You would have have either a thick, or a metal case. Both of which are going to increase already humongous phone due to Apples hard-on for symmetry.

Hell it's taller than the Note 3 with .2" LESS screen real estate!

This is poor engineering by Apple, plain and simple. A phone should not have to be kept in a case to be able to stand up to normal use, and yes, being in someones pocket counts as normal use for a phone.

You are correct, I would have taken a 8mm+thick iphone6+ with bigger battery and non-protruding camera.

They went too far to get the phone thin, in my opinion, this is however not going to stop me buying one!

The thing I wonder is whether the testers were predominantly using the 6+ in shells to disguise it? If so, that may have served to obfuscate this issue, just like it did with antenna-gate.

I was tossing up paying off the remainder of my S4 (on the 24 month interest-free thing with Telecom/Spark) and replacing it with the 6+, but now I'm not so keen... It's definitely going to be interesting to see how Apple responds ("You're putting it in your pocket wrong"?).

I seen the video and a couple of photos here and there. Yea sure looks like bends for those, figure they are all the same build, although I am not entirely convinced, there is just not enough information or immediate outrage out there from potential millions of 6+ buyers.

I am starting to wonder if the bending is just isolate cases with idiots that don't know how to look after their stuff.

In the video (the guy obviously makes money from doing this stuff) he likely said was just in his pocket, but was messing around with the structural areas and bent it before taking the video, really killing it.
If you watch it he only bends the thing way up above the apple logo and not dead center. Then he just goes for the one area the moment it start bending for the remainder of the video. Weak spot yea I would say, good chance bit of force used before shooting the video.

oh yea just to add, I watch this yesterday, it was near 1 million views, now views are near 20 million, just in a day or two. I hear a cash register ringing.

Your right, I re watched last night. Placed his thumb and finger next to thje weak point, then sad afterwards he focussed on the centre. I can see that if its ina pocket, with a much lower stress, but over a long period, that may gradually cause a bend, but its probably a lesser issue than I thought.
