My fervent hope is that Apple will drop the 16GB model in the 6S, but I'm not holding my breath.

You're aware that you don't have to buy one?

Oops sorry I didn't realise that, thanks for pointing it out! It was a commentary on the philosophy behind the sizing, not a purchase intention.

It's tempting - I went from a 3GS to a 5, so if I stick to that upgrade timeframe then I'm due a new one, but to be honest the 5 still does what I need it to. I had a big tech blowout earlier this year (new PVR, house wiring, HTPC) so I'm hanging onto my remaining pennies in the hope the new AppleTV comes out soon. I've even managed to shun the watch! Next year I will almost definitely upgrade. Probably not to the plus, though. I'm a tiny little woman with tiny little hands, so the smaller model suits me fine.

Ive been tossing up on the idea to switch to Apple from Android for all these years - but never eventuates. I came very close last year. Again might give it a miss this year. But would be good to see if they upgrade the camera and if it finally is 4k compatible. I would like to see a far better battery though - Apple is one of the best I know, but I would like it to be even better and also have fast charging enabled. Would be interesting if they consider going USB C by next year

I agree they should drop it - but with ever increasing pricing/margins it makes sense for them.

The greatest mistake of my life (besides not using a sarcasm emoticon when appropriate) is buying a 16GB iPad.

I'm actually thinking about flogging both my iPhone 6 and iPad Mini Retina and getting a 6S+.

Good compromise on both and then I can dispense with the extra device.

Have the 6+ going to get the 6S+ as close to release as I can.

Main reasons are camera and likely speed increase.

Will be going for the 128GB version this time around.

Will be selling the 6+ 64GB with 1 year of apple care once I have the new one in hand while it still is holding it's value.

Must be something wrong with me. I only buy a new phone once every 4 to 5 years.

Have the iphone 6, but thinking might have been better with the +.

Glad it's the 128 GB one though. I was never interested in iphones until 6 came out because for me the screen size on the earlier ones was definitely to small.

Like it better then the Android one I had, though it was a low spec one so comparision might not be fair.

When I read the first sentence of your post I thought "RUGRAT, HAND IN YOUR GEEKZONE CARD RIGHT NOW".

You have redeemed yourself though by buying the 128 GB iphone though. cool

It's coming...

Apple announces and invites media to September 9 (likely iPhone focused) event. [via. Macrumors]

Now if I've learnt anything from NCEA English, it's how to read into images.

I see different layers, separated by colour. Colour layers are often used to show pressure on a weather map. This obviously means force touch is happening, differences in pressure will give different results on the screen.

I'm thirsty for this new iPhone and Siri isn't helping me with the details so I have to make my own!

On a side note, does anyone who got the 5S on launch day remember what happened with that in terms of contracts/open term plans etc etc?

I've only ever bought the 5 and 6 on launch day, and was fortunate enough to get the 6 somehow without a contract (got in and reserved it in store before they changed their rules).

I never buy on contract and have been very happy with buying it from Apple. Got the AppleCare+ for my iPhone 6 Plus, which was lucky:

Got it swapped with a brand new phone in Scotland when I was there in july - for FREE (because I was in an Apple Store in a different country from where I bought the AppleCare+ agreement).

I have had all the various versions of the iPhone by now, and must say that the best service is the one I have gotten when I have bought the phone directly from Apple.

Yes, and the bit of the apple they've chosen to show looks like a fingertip making an indentation in a surface. I concur with your assessment.

I still plan to wait for the 7 though. I've kind of maxed out my gadget budget this year (with a small allowance left for ATV4).

Interested in the 6S Plus.

I bought the 128GB 6 Plus at launch, at the time it was around $1450, now its $1599 (the new price for 6 Plus after price increase), not sure if I'm ready to drop that much into a phone yet.
