Apple have come back and acknowledged there might be a glitch in the sign up system and getting engineering to look into it. So will leave it at that for now until they come back and say theyve found it.

Hope they might consider an account credit for the inconvenience once it is resolved!

Lodge a bug bounty claim. Package this thing right & you could end up actually enjoying this whole experience - Apple pay good bug bounties - up to $US100,000.

Yes, before all the 1K+ post Supergeeks come crashing down on me, this is not exactly what Apple specify as a qualifying bug, but this error has probably cost them well north of $US 100K already. Package the find correctly, sell it hard, ka-ching!
