Check out Aliexpress if you are patient as they have tag holders keyring style starting at 3 or 4 bucks! Doubt they are leather :)

Maybe Vegan leather aka polyurethane :)

The 3 day thing has eliminated them from being any use for us at work on things that we need to keep an eye on. Also the lack of multiple people being able to own the same thing to track it.

If you could define a home location that it would never start beeping when in, and allow everyone at work to be able to find it on both their company and personal iphones it might have a use, but for now the tile wins out.

You can set notifications for other "regular" ios devices if they leave or enter a location set by you, so I would think it could certainly be possible to look at doing this in future updates...

Linking a tag to multiple accounts seems to be a very common gripe....

Yeah, Its the Apple signature "upsell" nudge.... you don't get the fancy "your bag is three steps to your left" unless you have a 11 or newer iPhone...

Of course this is because the older iPhones don't have UWB support, not some nefarious plot.

Thanks for this. I spent $6 at Aliexpress instead of $65 at Apple.

I’m keen to know how they are weighted internally… as a disc golf player I’d love to see disc manufacturers make discs with molding that you can pop an air tag into centrally on the underside…. If it can be done without too much detriment to the flight characteristics… often you know roughly where your disc is… but often it’s under leaves or in tall grass and can take a bit to find…

And now you just have to wait a couple of months before it arrives in the mail. :)

I will give you that that is probably the wait for most accessories at this point.

Was looking at various key holders on Aliexpress myself, they are cheap enough. But couldn't find one with a keyring I liked, neither did I like the wait.

Mind you, will be waiting a little while longer before I get the Belkin ones I bought with the Airtags from Apple. Got the tags though and a few key rings.

The Belkin ones that Apple sells feels like they should cost $2-10. They are $20. Didn't want to spend $65 for the Apple leather ones.

So might end up buying something between the Apple and Aliexpress ones. Maybe something from: Nomad Airtag accessories

Must say I like the look of the leather loop from Nomad. And the adhesive cases from Moment look pretty good too - but a bit pricy.

Want something rugged? The Elevation Lab TagVault ones look like they could take a hit or two. A little too hefty for me.

Great idea, interesting question about whether balls might come with them built in too?

Ok so I found out how to reset the air tags so if you had it attached to one phone you can reset and attach it to another.

But it's a classic reset!

1.twist of cover remove the battery

2. Replace the battery and press down on the battery till you hear a sound.

3. do number 2 instruction 4 more times then replace the cover and it should be all good!

I think I found the details on Apple site

That’s only if you are unable to de-register it from the original phone it was attached to.

Here is the fairly easy way to do it if you are just switching from one user to another.

Hmmm. Thought it had more info on resetting. If you follow the reset link in that article you get to the article that talks about how to de-register a tag without having to do the "million times" reset.

I had to go to the Whanganui Hospital the other day big car park. I have a black car fairly late model. After my appointment came out and stood in the sea of black white and grey cars and thought now there is a good idea for a airtag!. Must try it sometime.

On another note I read a comment the other day saying attaching your air tag to anything visible is an invite saying "you want $50? Here you go". They were suggesting one should disguise the tag. Made me rethink my one swinging on my keyring.

Google used to always offer to let me know where I parked when I had done so, but seems to have stopped doing that on my phone. If the airtag/tile was connected to the car horn it might be useful for car use.
