copy and paste is no big deal at all too me might be useful on a rare occasionsI would use things like TXT forwarding more. Why there is no video I dont know.
I do have my 8gb iphone jailbroken and am very happy it has some app to copy and paste but frankly i have used it once in 3 months.cycorder the video recording app is great but again I have used it twice in 3 months. MMS I have never used on any phone and dont know why I would bother on a crappy camera anyways. If I want to send a picture I email it and 99% of MMS is just crap photos of some dick at a party anyways.

32gb would suit me. Allows enough room for my music collection. A few videos for when I'm board and plenty of podcasts and books. I've got an 8gb and its just not enough. I've got a 30gb ipod but I dont carry that around. Dont see why we should get one?

Plus some usb mass storage wouldnt go a miss either!

Here comes the not-so-good news (for some)

11:27AM "What about the rest of us? iPhone OS 3.0 will be available this Summer. A free update to all of our iPhone 3G customers. And it works on the original iPhone. Now the hardware has changed between these two devices. For instance, A2DP and MMS won't be available on the iPhone 1st gen. It's also available for the iPod touch... for $9.95."

How can they justify "taxing" iPod users like that? :(

Ok so here's a quick list:

  • Cut, Copy, Paste
  • MMS
  • Turn-by-turn (see below for more info)
  • A2DP
  • Search and Spotlight
  • Landscape Keyboard across everything
  • Voice Memos
  • Multiple Image Sending (thanks to cut, copy, paste)
  • Multiple SMS Forwarding
  • Push Notification....AGAIN!
  • Updated Maps App/API
  • Peer to Peer
  • In-App Purchase
  • Two additional calendar types. The first is CalDAV
  • Support for subscriptions. This is the .ics format
  • Stocks App Updated
  • Wireless accessory control
  • Note Sync
  • Auto-fill
  • YouTube accounts
  • WiFi autologin (not sure what for)
  • Anti-phising
..........and heaps more

When: Summer 09 (June)
Price : iPhone = Free
??? iPod Touch = US$9.95 ?

No Background Processes (due to performance issues)
A2DP and MMS won't be available on the iPhone 1st gen

Turn-by-turn:
Apple are enabling developers to use core location for turn by turn directions, however there is one catch -- bring your own maps. Due to licensing, we can't use those tiles in maps.

My question would be, Is Google going to do a Turn-by turn App?

...did I miss anything??

Cheers

@ MATTD oops sorry forgot about the API summary, good job.

I still think they should be able to get background apps working without comprimising too much performance. If Backgrounder (Cydia) can work then so should an Apple created version, only better. They should make it optional in settings. Then if you want it on, at the risk of losing some battery performance, then that's your choice. Also the ability to switch it on/off for individual apps (much like Backgrounder).

Also no video, but hey, what would be in 3.1 if they put everythin in now?? ;) It does leave some thinking about what we should complain about next :D, it's a pretty big list of improvements.
