motorwayne: Yeah seriously Johnr how about comparing Apples with apples ( no pun intended)

When are you guys going to sort out your speed issues? or even acknowledge them?

There are too many VF users with issues on your network, so front up man and stop blowing smoke screens.

So you're suggesting the iPhone is not stepping up to allow for faster speeds?

I dont think that it is the iPhone itself that is not stepping up. Its clearly a case of a network that is not up to par.
Even taking into account that the device itself should go up to 7.2 mbps then surely this is "best case scenario" and not necessarily in real world conditions.

If we were to truly test if the new iPhone is worthy of the "s" moniker then surely we would be looking at internal processor speeds and loading times, as a pose to network speeds. As far as i was aware they have the same network speed capability as the old 3G????

Just borrowed a friends Telecom SIM and did a direct comparison:

Vodafone:
116 Kbit down / 116 Kbit up

Telecom:
1834 Kbit down / 91 Kbit up

we can safely say its not the iphone thats not steeping up to the mark just look at this!
people are saying that is could be because of the area they are in with vodafone?
but im yet to see anyone in the country get a iphone even close to the speed that XT is getting

Faster in more places than ever before, telecom have definatly got this one correct

(I would love to see the jetboat racing the vodafone network even my old tired outboard would beat it)

No, they are up to 7.2 Mbps, the old 3G was 3.6 Mbps only.
