@newguy maybe you need to type your APN: Internet.telecom.co.nz that's what I do to get data working on my old 3G. You can try that first. You can update carrier setting from iTunes.

I received my 3gs today, and its working just fine on the XT network. Installed a telecom SIM and used NZ bullets Carrier Bundle. My only problem is a glitch with the maps application (current location km's off).

Those that are having issues getting the error "The iPhone "xxxx" could not be updated. An Unknown error occurred (0xE800005D)", when trying to update the XT carrier bundle, need to re-download the files. There are no longer Mac and PC files, just one for both but you must change your Safari preferences when downloading in OSX (if you use Safari).

Preference Change: Go to 'Safari>>Preferences' then untick the box next to "Open 'safe' files after downloading

Has anybody got the iPhone 3GS MMS working on XT? I can attached the message but it fails to send. Safari etc works on the phone fine, i used your link NZ Bullet.

Ok for some reason in the file Newguy loaded the :8080 was missing from the end of the MMS Proxy. Problem sorted.
