@cafeg Where in China? Hong Kong? Just keep in mind that China has tighter/different regulation and may have different hardware that Apple will have to make, to satisfy the Chinese Government.

However if you pop in to HK, chances are you can get it as "International" build and perhaps unlocked. Keep this in mind, you won't be eligible for any AppleCare warranty (Internationally) as the iPhone AppleCare is location specific.

heavenlywild: Expansys - they over promise and under deliver from my experience.

Totally agree.  Took over 3 weeks for my order, after their promise of 5 days.

Best bet is - get it on the day. I don't believe in pre-orders or ordering online through Apple. Often you hear that the quickest way is to just turn up to the shops on the day. You may have to go to a couple but more often than not it's not difficult:)

I worked for a NZ company who, in their infinate wisdom decided to move production to China. We sent over some of our products to see what they could do and it was honestly quite impressive! they copied every detail down to the batch and 'made in NZ' stamps.

Absolute rubbish quality but quick and accurate copies. They had about half the life expectancy of the NZ produced components and the savings were minimal after all the shipping but they ran with it anyway :-/
