Just got a 16GB wifi from DSE on Featherston St in Wellington. The only sucky thing was that they wouldn't activate it for me in-store and itunes is banned at work - so will have to wait until I get home tonight to have a play.

Just out of interest, the people who have bought the 16gb model, how do you plan to use it? I would of thought in this day and age 32gb would of been minimum if you plan to store a few movies on it.

Nah it's because Magnummac are crap. If you're in Auckland want Apple specialised service the only place to go is Ubertec. Any time I've dealt with Magnummac its always made me never want to go back.

Nudge -  In fact if anyone knows of an app (for the ipad) that will work as a keyboard/mouse/remote for win7 over wifi or bluetooth, givus a headsup as that is the big selling point for me.

I would have thought that would be quite easy?  Why can't you remote desktop to your windows machine and control your Media Center that way?  Does Apple not have remote Desktop software?

EDIT
I did a quick Google and there is even a free app available.

I got the 16gb but I don't want it for storing movies so think it will be more than enough for me.  Haven't had the chance to play with it much yet but am still loving so it far.

i wonder if they will do the same thing with iphone 4, where you can only purchase via vodafone in order to reduce strain directly on apple, and vodafone will take all the blames.

16gb is more than enough if you don't want your itunes library on there - I have an ipod for that.

I do have all of my iphoto library on there but it is cleverly optimised by itunes and only takes up 2gb of space, so I have over 10gb left for any apps and movies I want on there. Really it is plenty big enough as you can stream movies using airtunes anyway.

i've had my 16Gb model for a couple of months - no problems.

best suggestion - get the AirVideo app - it enables streaming of any video files (nearly all formats) on your computer via wifi to your ipad - its awesome.

The same company also does AirDisplay, which lets you add the ipad as an extra screen for your laptop - also awesome

still cant get over the awesome battery life.

and its amazing how many sites offer html5 video - its pretty hard to find a site that is still flash only.

Just been to JB HiFi and played with one...to be honest, for what i'd get from an iPad, I'd pay maybe $200 max for a 16gb version.

I thought it was nice, fun and kind of cool, but certainly not worthy of purchase for me.

My iPhone and my laptop will suffice.

At Magnum Mac nearly everyone in front of me, about 5 or so, got the 64gb 3G version as did I.

I thought I was being smart by getting one as I assumed most people would opt for 32gb but I was wrong..

At JB, in the 20 mins I was there, around 6 32gb 3G ones were sold...no others.
