oxnsox: It's all transitional hype anyway, right now it's the Telcos who can analyse data usage and try and predetermine plans that best encompass the way people use the devices (I doubt options like 1000 txts, or similar, a month were a stab in dark...)
In time people won't be focused on data caps sizes as they'll simply be sufficient for their needs. Their real concern will be on getting the right device that meets their personal social/business networking needs.
I agree, if they can come up with packages that suit most normal uses then it's only the very heavy or specialist users that need to worry and as a small group they can be managed and educated as necessary.
Unfortunately having worked in the industry I've seen it floundering for 10 years to get it right. I hope it happens soon. I think it will now that data usage is becoming very much the norm on a handset.
