Thanks for the heads up RE us-video (unblock-us) service to run Netflix in NZ. I've been tinkering around with this tonight and it's not working too well TBH.
I wondered what settings you guys used?
I've been using the Australia NZ DNS settings (it seems from their instructions that you're supposed to use the DNS settings for your location not the intended destination). Initially I input these DNS settings on the Apple TV and temporarily on my Airport Extreme so I could pass the 'check service' test to activate it. After doing this the Apple TV 2 has been pretty flaky. I can connect fine to Netflix and watch the content (hooray) but almost none of the thumbnails load, and any content on the iTunes serves doesn't work at all. The 'Movies' and 'TV Shows' tabs appear and disappear, the thumbnails don't fully load and any attempts to contact the iTunes store to load content results in failure.
Changing the DNS settings back to normal everything works sweet, even Netflix thumbnails all load quickly but I can't play the content, obviously.
I tried changing the DNS settings of all my devices that are on the network to see if that would help, but it hasn't, and only served to make those devices flaky as well. iTunes on my mac wouldn't connect to the server, and neither on my iPhone.
So I've reverted it all back to my original DNS settings and left the Apple TV settings pointed to unblock-us so that I can access Netflix, but still don't have any thumbnails or access to iTunes servers.
Other notes: I'm signed into a US iTunes Store account, have my location set to 'United States', and am using this same account for Home Sharing.
Anyone have any ideas? What setting have you guys had to use to make sure it works properly?
