Anyone know if XR is available in retail stores now?  Going to upgrade my wife's iPhone 8...

Had a play with a white XR at Vodafone. Chunkier than I expected, but nice solid feel. Bezel didn't bother me. But that screen ... pixels are noticeable, particularly around the text. I just can't see how this is a $1,400 phone with such a sub-par screen.

Should be in all stores, may pay to check your local ones though.

I bought an XS Max on Monday and have used it for a few days....  little bit of an upgrade from my 8 Plus, but I'm uninspired tbh.  The extra screen real-estate is not well used in many apps and in my opinion was not worth the upgrade, really.  I was just as happy with the 8, but needed a new phone to make an older one available to pass down the line.

I'm getting used to the lack of a home button.  Face ID is pretty good but doesn't add any value to me over the finger scanner.

Picked up the XR last night for my wife.  Great phone, the LCD is very nice.  Only problem is the entire phone might be slightly too big for my wife, but given the only other option is an X or XS which are $200 and $500 more expensive respectively, she'll get used to it :)

It doesn't exist to add value to you.  It exists to allow Apple to deprecate the physical Home button :)

Yup, whereas competitors are releasing phones with inscreen home button/finger print readers.

My Apple Watch has FINALLY been shipped by Apple, but from China (I think I was expecting Australia, dunno why...). Anyone else get their Apple purchases sent from PRC? How long did they take to arrive?

Have had my Xs Max for 1 1/2 months, and I don't miss touch ID one bit. Much easier to open the phone now then when I was using my last phone (an iPhone 7 Plus).

Happy they got rid of Touch ID and the home button.

This 1000%, its faster and easier. I dont miss touch ID at all. I do a lot of mountain biking so the ability to open my phone with gloves on by just looking at the phone is fantastic. Up the top of the christchurch adventure park downhill trails yesterday it even unlocked with my full face downhill helmet on. Amazing tech!

Upgraded from iPhone X 256GB to iPhone Xs Max 256GB. The new FaceID is amazing, it feels like its instant now, and never fails detection, also feels like the camera angle is bigger (don't have to have the phone facing me directly to unlock).

Face ID is a game changer in my view especially when used to log in to web sites and apps - no need to touch anything, it just does it automatically. I have also just upgraded to the new iPad Pro and having Face ID on that is fantastic. After moving to iPhone X and now XS Max I really started to notice how many times I had to touch the home button for Touch ID. Next I want it in my Mac please Apple.
