JimmyC: I would assume\hope Apple will come up with something for the two chargers issue. Even something as simple as a dual USB outlet, so you can run two cables off the one plug, would help.

I'd like to think they'd end up with a lighting to watch-charger converter for those that want to only carry 1 cable.

Time will tell.

As someone who believes that Apple's success is built around both good design and marketing, I'm left a bit non-plussed. For several reasons.

First, sure it looks nice, but the vibe around it is just seems very un-Apple. It feels very middle aged and undemocratic all this 'high end' watch stuff. Apples are premium, but also cool. This feels a bit too much like a device for executives and the yacht brigade. I changed my mind abit when I saw the sporty one on the website but overall I just don't relate to it as I do other Apple products. Just seems sort of...not very cool. That is either a big departure for Apple or a big mistake.

Secondly, to be frank, whilst I appreciate these are early day, it doesn't really offer much for me as a gadget, certainly not $350 plus worth. Alerts, calendar, messages are great, but not if I have my phone on me anyway.

I think the new iPhones are stunning looking though.

I really like the concept but the lack of proper waterproofing would probably be a deal breaker for me. I imagine I'll hold off for the second generation.

dafman: Another thing about battery - while the magnetic charger looks great for ease of use, it introduces yet another proprietary cable into the mix. So, when traveling, in addition the lightening cable for your phone, you'll be carting a secondary cable for your watch as well.

Not if you take a dock with you (if they make one).

Personally I don't get why they don't have that magnetic clip on a small little pedestal type dock. You take the watch off and it snap it too a small dock next to your bed. Better than a cable and would look cooler.

Personally I'm not a fan. I think they have not made it has "cool" as I would have expected Apple to do. The moto 360 wins handsdown!

I don't think I'll get an Apple Watch. All I would use it for is notifications and time keeping. $500 is way too much for that pleasure when I already have a few watches which funnily enough, already do the time keeping part. So actually $500 for notifications is mental.

The CST-01will be my next watch, when and if it ever comes out!

I'd say that is probably because 'executives and the yacht brigade' is a group with high disposable income.....

I love the way they claim it is the most accurate watch in the world.

The Seiko Astron synchs with the atomic clocks in GPS satellites (and changes time zone as you move around the world - all on a normal analogue face) and runs on light......! The entire face is a solar cell that charges a capacitor which will run the watch for months.

A better product IMV - although I can't tap on your face and annoy you in meetings with it, I will agree......

This probably sums up my disappointment in the Apple Watch. I was hoping Apple would redefine wrist mounted wearable tech. I was probably seduced by some of the fanciful renderings that were hyped over the past 6 months.
I have no doubt that the iOS interface and operation will be well thought out and user friendly, and I am truely thankful Apple had finally included NFC so that it will go mainstream. Will that mean tags will increase in price or reduce? Maybe 'iTags' will sell at a premium.

As mentioned earlier, this watch is akin to the original iPad, so the next iteration is probably a better bet.

The Seiko Astron range is circa $4,000 in NZ so is that really a fair comparison?

So its going to be interesting to see how the Haptic feedback works (sorry TapTic in apple terms). I wonder if we can do some good old pavlovian conditioning experiments. Feed the geek, ring the bell.

Not quite happy about the power usage model. Hopefully, if it has wireless charging it will be standardised so we can use any charge pad and not just a special apple one. Bit of additional battery capacity would be nice.

Maybe it's just me... but I really was hoping for a design like This.

I prefer the classic watch look, but would be nice to have the features of the Apple Watch, but without looking tacky.
