Wish I could justify spending $547 for a 16gb touch. (duty free).

Hmmm...Maybe you should wait a while...I'm sure a 16GB HSDPA iPhone is comming soon! :-)  I think then you could justify it a bit better!  But Hey I payed $530 for my iPod Video christmas 2005 (wow thats a long freaking time ago now).

Reasons why I think there will be a 16GB/HSDPA iPhone model

1.  Steve Jobs knows that there is  many americans waiting on a Larger capaticy 3G iPhone.
2.  They have removed the bottom tier (4GB) iPhone from sales, and lowered the price of the 8GB, this will now be the bottom tier option with if a 3G model is introduced.
3.  They have signed a large contract with chipset maker InterDigital
4.  3G penatration in Europe is large, with many heavy users, and the coverage is good.

I <3 engadget :-P.  So, the iPod Classic is now the 6th Gen iPod, and the iPod touch is just another device intirely?  I wonder if they will eventualy kill off the origonal iPod line, I hope not :-(

Is there really a future for the iPhone now that the touch is available? Do Apple really need to be in the mobile business?

I would rather have an 8gb iPhone than a 16gb touch...

Well if you read that thing that MF posted, you would start to wonder that, but more Apple not wanting to be in the Phone business.  But I think that is a required progression, if they don't do it, how much longer before they are left behind?  More and more people will move away from stantalone music devices, and move towards mobile phone based players.

Yes we were discussing this earlier, there is a good chance that advertisement is fake though...

Hmmm, I wouldn't say that until units get into peoples hands, I think there is  good chance that they have just disabled it, and its there in the chipset.

Just like there was no 802.11N in there line up of products a while ago...I'm not saying there is going to be bluetooth, but I wouldn't rule it out.
