Darn expensive for a 4" cell phone.  You can do way better these days with an Android or windows Phone..

Agreed, that's why I don't stress over prices for this stuff.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

I'll be interested in an Apple event when Steve Jobs 3.0 is released.

Since Jobs died, nobody has started a conversation with me about Apple. Before that people were often talking about Jobs and Apple.

What small Android phone would you say has equivalent build quality?

Not the S5. Build quality is the main reason I want to return to Apple next round.

IMHO the iPad Pro would be more enticing to me if it were able to be used with a mouse when the Keyboard is attached. I can use my Surface when travelling with a small BT travel mouse and it makes a good little

travel PC

The ipad pro (small) is such a weird product. It is basically just the ipad air 2 with a slightly faster processor, with a pen, but it is a huge price difference just to have a pen on it. Someone buying that sort of device would be far better to just by a MS surface. And why keep selling the ipad air2. The ipad pro (small) should have been the ipad air 2 replacement, and priced at the same level, and they should have got rid of the air 2, or made it the cheap ipad version.

The Galaxy S phones are quite a bit bigger than the SE, so not really what I had in mind anyway. Still, hard to justify $949 for the SE when that price is so close to something like the S6.

And speaking of the S6, aren't you reacting to a problem that no longer exists in saying that you want to return to apple for the build? The S6 and S7 are a far cry from the plasticky S5. Too bad they couldn't find a way to achieve that level of build quality while maintaining the removable battery, although maybe the LG G5 is trying that?

FineWine: So we all wait for the Kiwi pricing

for the 64Gb iPhone 6SE

NZ$949

and US$499

Exchange as at 22/03/16 @1355 = US$67.615 for NZ$100.00 still a rip off

Is this BS normal for Apple products in NZ? I was interested in the SE until I looked at the grossly inflated NZ price.

Add in GST, freight, handing etc gets it closer to the NZ price.

Darn expensive for a 4" cell phone.  You can do way better these days with an Android or windows Phone..

AU$829

Exchange rate as at 22/03/16 @ 1710 = AU$89.221 for NZ$100.00

MMM I knew there was a good reason I SHOULD OF stayed in Aussie, oh well will just have to get one in Nov 16 when I visit the Steve Jobs Temple in Sydney. laughing Then claim the Aussie GST back at the airport.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

You know Apple have got a problem inventing new features, when the number one feature of the newest IOS update is just a feature that alters the colour of the screen slightly, for nightime viewing. It is a feature Android has had for over a year, so it is just playing catchup anyway. These products are now so mature, that it is now going to become a bit of a race to the bottom if they want to compete. I mean what other features can they really add, apart from improving battery life.

16 GB: 749 NZD incl 15% GST; 679 AUD incl 10% GST; 399 USD

Stripping it back to bare costs, you have ~636 NZD (~430 USD) & ~600 AUD (~450 USD)

So can we cut the complaining about so called "Apple Tax" & "inflated NZ prices" and just complain about the fact that GST here is so high?

Off topic, but why do you need a removable battery? I have yet to meet anyone who carries a spare around and if its purely for replacing if it dies then you can replace an iPhone battery with the removal of two screws.

On topic, I'm probably what you might call an Apple fan boi but thats after many years of being a windows devotee (and Microsoft pays my way in life), the reason I changed to Apple at home is that "it just works". Personally, I won't be buying any of the new products as my Ipad Air is still going strong for my needs and I have a 6 Plus so won't be going back to 4" anytime soon. I am interested in the new iOS and TVOS features released and although I have an Apple watch, I prefer the pricing of aftermarket bands to Apples.

Written on my 13" MacBook Pro Retina (but I run a Surface Pro 3 for work)

:-)

I currently have a 16GB 5C and I'm going to upgrade to a 16GB SE. I think the launch of this phone makes sense. Many prefer the 4 inch iPhone, but at the same time they'd like a phone with a higher spec than the 5s.

$750 isn't bad considering it's better than the iPhone 6 in most areas and on par with the 6s in many. I'm just waiting to see if it's 1GB or 2GB of RAM.

Apple doesnt compete actively. People will still buy the next Apple device or the one after. Sales will ease, as we extend our upgrade path for the reasons you stated. Sammy however has to compete with the other manufacturers using Android or WP

Related, I updated my iPhone 6 Plus to IOS 9.3 today, since the upgrade the phone has been decidedly sluggish. I am hoping it is search and Siri indexing etc
