Dropping the 128GB tier is something that I think will come back to bite them ....
I would prefer the had kept it, but realistically I don't think anyone is going to not buy one because they can't get it in 128GB.

Had to laugh. Was talking to a friend of mine 2 days ago. He was complaining about not being able to save for a deposit and complaining about house prices in Auckland. He is going to vote Labour so they can "save" him.
He texted today to say he'd be pre-ordering the 256GB for $2099
/me smh
I think the phrase you looking for is "champagne socialist"

I doubt it.
We hear a variation of this every year... "Apple hasn't done enough that's new! This phone is ugly/boring/too expensive/not enough storage" and (with only one exception I can think of) they announce record sales and profit a few months later.

No but they might buy a 7 when they were thinking abut an 8......

Maybe, but without knowing what the profit margin on each model is who's to say that won't actually be more profitable for them?
Nobody has mentioned the A11 much yet.. What an absolute BEAST this phone trounces everything Android has.. It even beats the base model 2017 Macbook Pro

Time to switch to Samsung after 9 years and 7 iphones. Apple are pricing themselves off the market.
or perhaps the new google phone when it is announced next month.
happy with my 7 - i do not see a reason to upgrade every year, when the 7 battery life get to poor, then i will see what X has turn out like and maybe get the XI (an X with the bug ironed out :) )

I'm lucky to not have to pay for a phone, but if I did, I would probably max out at around $700 - for a couple of reasons: 1. Drop/break risk is high with a phone, 2. Life cycle doesn't extend beyond 2-years (for me).
So, a $2,000 phone, out of the question.
That screen on the X is a little retarded, the black bar cuts off your picture in games and videos? The hell they thinking.
Also that price is out of this world stupid.
I'm running a 6+ and love it, but will upgrade this time around and hand the existing handset down. I like the design of the X in many ways, but think the notch out of the screen is a bit silly.... but maybe those two little spaces could show the time or battery life or WiFI strength when a 'full screen' game or video is playing. The extra RAM in the X allows for some future proofing so it might have a longer useful life. I think ultimately I would rather have the extra battery life available in the 8+ though.
I am definitely looking forward to having an improved camera in my pocket.

Dingbatt: Looking forward to some real world reviews.
How well face id actually works. I didn't watch the announcement, but as I understand it, the first demo unit failed to work.
How much of the 64GB is used up by the OS and 'essentials'.
How much space images taken by the full capability of the new camera will use.
Battery life.
Battery life.
Battery life.
Any bets on how long before some dickhead bends, droptests, burns, scratches, etc a phone most people will struggle to afford on YT?
The Face ID in the demo failed because it came up with the passcode screen (as all Touch ID iphones do when switched on for the first time) Sounds like he picked up the incorrect phone as the one that was programmed with his face worked for the rest of the demo.
Battery life is said to be two hours longer than the 7 and 8, dont think it will be as good as the 7/8 plus.
I wont be racing out to get one as my 7 is still on contract

Have to agree and I seriously think Apple is testing the market here. Apple fans may just end up paying it anyway.
