Eva888: I started the update at 7pm and it stated it needs 8 hours to download! 10 pm and it says 4 hours to go.
Wondering if this is normal.

No thats not normal, Shut down and restart and try again.

Restarted and it stuck on 'estimating time remaining.' Finally got to downloading and it’s reading 7 hours remaining. Happening to the other iPhone as well.

Wondering if I’ve turned off some setting that is slowing it down. I fiddled with it a few weeks back when the battery was draining too fast and turned off a few tracking type settings that might be draining it. Going to bed...will leave it on charge overnight and see what happens in the morning.

I was using the beta so it's not new news to me anymore, but I also haven't run into any issues. A couple of apps I was using (BNZ) which had minor issues on the beta have sorted themselves out.

I still love the unobtrusive call notifications. Haven't yet found a killer use for widgets beyond calendar appointments TBH.

The internet is a wash with people using Widgetsmith etc and Shortcuts to fully customise their home screens, sometimes with questionable aesthetics...

I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere, but ios 14 now allows zoomed display (on iphone X at least) - this wasn't available previously (and was the reason I'd kept a 6 for backup)...

For those with average/poor eyesight, this is really quite a big deal

It took hours to download, servers must have been too busy. Bit of a shock to see the Hola screen as if it was a factory reset. All normal once that was swiped away.

My iPhone 11 is fine. I have a vague suspicion that battery life is impacted but I think the new iOS needs to run for a week or so before I can be forming a firm view.
Widgets are good. It all feels more like it should have about two versions ago. Don’t use Air Pods so no comment there.

Fascinating.  How long have images now actually been placed inline into emails rather than attached?

The biggest thing is Spatial Audio with my AirPods Pro. Wow. Just WOW!  I'm sure the novelty will wear off, but holy moly! Such a cool feature from a novelty perspective.

I read something about recently about the AirPods Pro new OS recently and checked earlier this morning - sure enough they had updated themselves.

I have checked that Spatial Audio is enabled in iPad settings. I’m interested to know what you used to listen and demonstrate it to yourself?

If Spatial Audio is enabled, this dolby demo link demonstrates it really well. Especially if you turn your head while hearing the main voice.

How do you tell whether it's using VoLTE? There's now a toggle for it (Settings/Mobile/Mobile Data Options/Voice & Data) but I don't know how to tell whether it's actually making use of it.

small VoLTE tag at the top of the screen

iOS does not display a VoLTE icon (like most Android devices do). Just need to look for the 4G icon while on a call. If it remains on 4G you have VoLTE enabled. If it drops to 3G you probably don't. Also you won't see the icon if connected to WiFi, so you might need to disable to WiFi to check.

A long time I think, I've certainly been seeing that for at least a year.

Not quite correct there with the icon. It depends whether the device has a notch at the top of the screen (and therefore the associated compromised icon display space).

One thing I noticed and I don't think I have seen it come up before but I get a notification if my watch or my iPods have become fully charged which I really like.

Yeah the combo of iOS14 and WatchOS7 started giving me the "fully charged" notification on my iPhone when my Watch was charged in about the second iteration of the Beta.

It's a useful feature.

Is it possible to turn off that fully charged notification?

It's great that you guys find it useful, but for me it would be disruptive.

Not that I'm aware of...it appears to be a feature that iOS has inbuilt whether you want it or not.
