henrytai: Can’t wait! Who’s getting up at 5am to watch the keynote? 😛

I have an iPhone X and was going to update last year - but I was underwhelmed by the 13 so decided to wait a year. Now I'm pretty excited at the prospect of the 14 Pro and for the first time in years I'll watch the event live tomorrow morning.

More news that airpods pro 2 (or whatever they'll be named) may make this event too. Hope so as I really want a pair

Me too. I bought mine in May 2020 and they feel like they're end of life. They are making an annoying whistling noise when I insert them and the left one is rattling a bit as if something is loose inside.

The new ones sound like they will be really good and I don't want to have to wait too long for them!

How to prices on the existing models usually fare on Apple announcements? (Ive never followed them).

I was about to grab a series 7 watch but have been hanging off in cases prices fall after a new model is announced.  Or is this not a thing.

Not sure about watches but phones definitely go through that cycle. I would say watches will to. Apple normally remove the existing model (7) from their webstore and then retailers clear them out.

My airpods pro started doing that a couple of months ago and Apple replaced both pods but not the case as a warranty issue even though the 2 year period had expired. The squealing is a know fault with the first purchased airpods pro.

I'm telling myself i'll hold out until next year when (hopefuly) things go USB-C. Maybe it can be a new watch year this year - the 5th gen is still holding out nicley though.

How's the battery health on your 5th gen?

I bought my 6th gen just before the 7th gen was released, so it's just over a year old. It's down to 93% battery health which makes me think it won't be much older than two years when it hits the dreaded 80% mark.

Just finished watching the keynote. First one I’ve watched in 3 years. God damn apple nails it’s presentations, that was sooo slick. Incredible marketing

Yep. Maybe I'm easily impressed - but I was. Not interested in Watch or updating my Airpods but 14 Pro looks fantastic - especially coming from a five-year-old iPhone X.

Let's see how many will trigger the satellite emergency call in a drunken state and be amazed at the subsequent bill for the false alarm ... after all, the service is included for 2 years.
