24 month term
Current full monthly plan price multiplied by months remaining (24) on current term multiplied by 50%

Someone mentioned that it would be cheaper to fly to OZ to pick one up and enjoy a holiday.

bobkate: Just a note on the 3GB "special" on your Smart1 plan - my?fiance had that same offer from when she purchased her iPhone, also back circa 2010.? While she was able to carry on using the 3GB for most of 3 years, they did eventually give her a call about a month ago to let her know that the special was finally over and she would be dropped back down to 500MB.

If you're counting on the "grandfathering" to continue forever, I'd check to see what you're *entitled to* in your contract, compare that against what you're currently getting, what you could get if you re-sign.? The way our market operates, leaving the hardware subsidy on the table usually works to your disadvantage.

This would completely contradict the discussions that were had on here back when VF terminated the 3gb deal. We were clearly advised if you had it you would keep it for the duration of time you remained on the plan. I am on Smart2 and enjoy the 3gb data allowance, if this ceased I would jump ship out of principal

This would completely contradict the discussions that were had on here back when VF terminated the 3gb deal. … and contradict the verbal advice given to me by a Voda retail employee last Saturday (which supports what you say). However, as someone else mentioned further up this thread, it's the contract/plan terms and conditions that count at the end of the day. Vodafone retains the right to turn off the bonus 3GB at any time and revert to the original plan allowance (in my case that was 250MB). For me, this would immediately drive me off the Smart1 plan - and likely onto a competitor's best data-heavy option that comes with a nano-SIM

We live in "interesting times" ...

All those plans are too much for me, I got wifi everywhere. Just wait for the outright phone.

I signed up to the Smart1 plan on the understanding that the normal data allowance was 250MB and the 3GB expired after 6 months, so I consider it a bonus to still have it. But I would move to 2degrees if the 3GB was taken away now, because they have that awesome 12GB for 6 months for $99 add-on, which works out at less than $17 for an average of 2GB per month. Add that to one of their $19 prepay plans and it's an excellent deal. Vodafone's additional data packs are puny and extremely expensive by comparison.

Why not get an ipod touch instead them. Basically an iphone 5 without the phone and only a 5MP camera. But not really the greatest value in NZ.

How did your order time decrease i ordered mine at 1:36am and it still says 3-4 weeks......

Must be something to do with the model. I ordered at 1.15am and was at 3-4 weeks last time I checked.

Well summed up - Kind of pointless using an iPhone without a data plan. Even when I travel overseas I'll get a local sim with a data plan.

3-4 weeks before they ship....if you check again it now says delivery approx 30-oct -early Nov

Im in 2degrees and with 19data that's 600mb+30min+300txt($19permonth), I still got 200mb+ left last month, why I wanna go to more expansive plan and jail in 24months??

A nano SIM is no different from a normal SIM or a micro SIM and the teleco should not be making you switch plans just to get a different type of SIM card. They are exactly the same "chip" with varying amounts of plastic.

It seems easy enough to modify a normal or micro SIM into a nano SIM and that way you should be able to continue on with the iphone and no change to your plan etc.

Has anyones order with apple.co.nz changed status yet, mine still shows processing. I am checking my order daily in the hope it changes to "preparing for shipment".

Estimated date is still 29/10 - 2/11

Even trying to find a nice iPhone case thats in stock is difficult. I do have my nano sim though.
