BTR: Has anyones order with apple.co.nz changed status yet, mine still shows processing. I am checking my order daily in the hope it changes to "preparing for shipment".

Estimated date is still 29/10 - 2/11

Even trying to find a nice iPhone case thats in stock is difficult. I do have my nano sim though.

Mine changed to 2-3 weeks last week. still processing though.

Yogi02: Usually free with a plan and $5 for prepay?

A nano SIM is no different from a normal SIM or a micro SIM and the teleco should not be making you switch plans just to get a different type of SIM card. They are exactly the same "chip" with varying amounts of plastic.

It seems easy enough to modify a normal or micro SIM into a nano SIM and that way you should be able to continue on with the iphone and no change to your plan etc.

Vodafone advised me that I could continue on my old plan with iPhone 5 so that carries the assumption they won't be making me change to get a nano sim.

I have read of people cutting the micro sim down with success - a guy from a local blog flew to Aussie on launch day and brought a few 5s back which he and his friends cut their sims down to fit. Conversely, someone else I know had a mate who tried it and he wrecked the sim.

When my phone (eventually) arrives, do I need to go into the store and get VF to transfer my number onto a new sim, or can I pre-buy one now and get that done over the phone? I'd hate to not be able to play with my new toy for days because I can't make it to a store. The drawbacks of working in an office park. :0(

Noel Leeming has quite a few in store, I got the following one for my iphone 5, its very thin and fits the phone very well without adding much bulk to the phone.

Just so everyone knows, 2Degrees allows purchasing of the nano sim and then transfer of your number when you're ready. You can purchase it through their online store or in store then call the number provided when you want to transfer the number. The $5 you pay for it gets credited to your account.

Invisible shield is awesome but going in and out of the pocket got my invisible shield start to peel from one of the corners and dust started getting it and then I had peel it out and had to go back to a case.

What time did you order on the Friday morning?

I ordered at around 7:20am so I'm probably not in the "first of the first" batch.

Surely somewhere like JB Hi-fi or DSE would start selling these outright before 3-4 weeks?

I ordered 5am

But it was the 64GB black so I guess it's not that popular
