Sparky221: Has now been picked up by One News and TV3:

http://www.3news.co.nz/Rumours-iPhone-4-launch-has-been-delayed/tabid/412/articleID/168120/Default.aspx#top

Hilarious: "Vodafone could not be reached as their automated system kept disconnecting the call before a representative could be reached."

Sparky221: http://tvnz.co.nz/technology-news/question-over-iphone-4-launch-3679066

Quality journalism there: "The iPhone 4 has been plagued with technical glitches since its launch overseas."

No context, no explanation. Completely unrelated to the story.

I don't think it's such a big deal. No discount was offered at the mall store. In fact, no prices were mentioned at all. I'm waiting for a deal from the online vodafone store, like last year.

Sadly, this whole mess is just further fallout from the gulf of mexico oil spill.

Apple had earmarked the 'wild' crude for use in the manufacture of bumpers.
As of a couple of weeks ago, there was plenty to spare, but BP capped the well ahead of schedule and created a short-term shortage. There was also some inconsiderate flora and fauna that lapped up some of this available crude and so Apple have not been able to produce enough bumpers to meet the demand of the New Zealand market.

So in the short term, its not looking good for tomrrow, but the good news is that Apple are doing their best to get the well uncapped again so that they can resume the harvest and get production back on track for this (vital) component.

If you want your phone sooner, rather than later, don't bother lining up outside your local Harvey Leemings, get over to the the gulf of mexico and reclaim some crude off a thieving pelican.
