The wired review so says:

"This device is hard to sum up. Everything about it is wonderful, and if the bending doesn’t get any worse, and the scratches remain minor, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone. It’s a truly wonderful phone, the best from a purely hardware perspective I’ve ever used."

So maybe not a turkey. But I still wouldn't park it in my back pocket. (?° ??°)

Strange to say the least. If mine has the slightest bend I will reject it no matter if Apple take it back or not.

The photo's I keep seeing is the same few photos re-used over again all over the net.

Personally I have never put a cell phone in my back pocket ever.

I was keeping my Macbook Pro in my back pocket (as all smart device users apparently do, its the new trend.) I kinda sat down and didnt realize it was there for like 3 hours LOL!.
So it bent aye.

Well in the first 3 days it sold 10 million iPhone 6 & 6 Plus' units. And thats only in 10 countries too.

So at the moment it's not even a 1 in a million thing considering it's since launched in a tonne of other countries and sold probably millions more units.

Just a thought, these standard tests, to test the bend pressure are not actually a fair test for all devices, as they all use the same fulcrum point.

If you take a 15cm long piece of material, and a 30cm piece, and then bend them both with a "bend stress test" over a 15cm area this is fundamentally not an accurate real world test.

A proper stress test would be to spread the force over the entire length of the phones, now this would be an interesting test, as it would compare the stress load over the entire length of the phone, not over a select small percentage.

[Clarification: I'm don't have a grasp of engineering, if someone could weigh in who does?]

Agree. You could have the fulcrum at one third, half way, two thirds. As each phone may have a different weakest point. The 6Plus is weakest where they tested so thats probably a worst case scenario. And in the second Youtube video the dude made, he placed his finger and thumb in the middle, except on the Plus, where he placed it on the edge, to make it easier to bend. Then he stated that he tested all in the middle. It was contrived to a degree for sure

I don't condone what this guy did for the sake of creating his journalist by intentionally damaging the item.

He does say he used excessive force bend the iPhone 6+, and then goes on to say it is unlikely to bend from normal usage.

says it hurt his thumb for 20 mins after AND that it bent 'easily'

I'm just stunned that people think it's OK to go into a store and try to bend a $1000+ piece of kit that;s on display!!!

I've read several reports of this now, but haven't seen anyone try it...if I did, they'd hear my opinion on what they're attempting!
