phew, mine just changed as well  - mine has delivery date of 6/8 (napier), on Friday I checked delivery to home in Hastings and it would have been 5/8, not sure why the difference considering the 10 min difference in travel time between the 2, hoping for delivery on 5th

Yup same here. Should be delivered tomorrow according to Apple. DHL, and my odd work hours, might have other ideas though.

Ordered mine, it says it is out for delivery at the moment (Napier). Still says 6/8 on the Apple order history though. Hopefully it arrives today!

Well, evidently "With delivery courier" does not mean "out for delivery". Boo.

Unfortunately you are right, looks like it will be tomorrow. Would have been nice though.

Bah! Mine still says 4th delivery date but it still hasn't arrived (I'm in Auckland). Patience is a virtue they say.

I had a card to call yesterday of course. Quick call to very helpful lady at CourierPost and I collected from the depot yesterday afternoon.
This watch is freaking sweet! Smaller than I had hoped, so much so I double checked the size when I opened the box. And the packaging, what a cool product to open for the first time :)
All going well so far, set up last night, very cool.

Cheers,
Joseph

To the folks here that have purchased an Apple Watch you have been using these for a while now what are your thoughts?
Has the device lived up to expectation?
What features do you like?
What features do you use the most?
What features don't you like?
What has the battery life been like?

MikeB4: To the folks here that have purchased an Apple Watch you have been using these for a while now what are your thoughts?

Better than I had expected. Smaller and lighter than I had hoped. Build quality is amazing.

What features do you like?
Very granular notifications, no problem with it beeping unnecessarily. Raise wrist to activate is really quite reliable. Siri does seem to work very well over all, don't know if it's subjective of not. I get my phone out of my pocket much less frequently when out and about. Also very impressed that notifications, without fail, go to phone if you're using it. If phone is locked, then they go to watch. Never had a duplicate, very cool.

What features do you use the most?
Glances for activity, Overcast, weather.

What features don't you like?
Unremovable Stocks app. Again.

What has the battery life been like?
Fine, no issues. Has not gone flat any day. Currently on 52% at 1845 and put it on at 0730. Including 30 minute walk etc.

Cheers,
Joseph

Thanks for that. I like the getting the iPhone out of the pocket less. I am considering getting one and the pocket phone thing is attractive for me, it is a real pain getting the phone
Out of my jeans when sitting in the wheelchair.

I'd have to echo josephhinvest's comments.  I'm really impressed with the watch and it has lived up to my expectations, perhaps even exceeded it, although I've only had it for little over a week.  I'm really satisfied with how it looks on my wrist and how clear the screen is to read ... coming from a Garmin Vivosmart, this is a big plus.  I have the 38mm sport model and I find the rubber (fluroelastomerwotzicthingymejig) band very comfy to the point where I just don't feel it.  Features I find myself using most are Workouts (I run a few times a week), weather, Activity tracker,  Messages, Email, Calender, Music (and Overcast). I use most of these features on a daily basis and my phone stays on the desk when I'm walking around home or work.  The tasks I use the watch for distract you for a few seconds at a time (occasionally longer).  I find doing the same on the iPhone results in being distracted by other apps ... "I'll just check my Facebook while I'm on my phone etc. etc."

I can't think of anything that I don't like about it, although as I say, I've only had it a little over a week. Perhaps some third party apps are slow to load ... a problem that will apparently be fixed in the next OS update (September I believe).

Battery life gets me through a day comfortably. I start at 5.30am and by the time I have my head on the pillow at the end of the day (9pm ish) I'm down to 30-40 percent depending on use.  It would be nice to wear it sleeping in order to take advantage of the silent alarm (so as not to wake my wife) ... but I have to charge it instead and rely on the audible alarm.  Not a biggie.  Actually, I probably could do this successfully with the remaining power, but I would then need to charge the Watch first thing at work, which is not ideal for me.

Cheers
