I think the concept of having a different colour temperature for assisting the circadian rhythm has taken that long to become mainstream enough for Apple to adopt it as novel.

I have it setup on my iPad and it's actually quite relaxing read at tonight. I wonder what real sleep experience will be as I read most nights before sleep.

$750 isn't bad considering it's better than the iPhone 6 in most areas and on par with the 6s in many. I'm just waiting to see if it's 1GB or 2GB of RAM.

Both the SE and iPad Pro 9.7 have 2GB RAM.

I would have expected at least 3GB on the iPad Pro since the iPad Air 2 already has 2GB. Disappointing really.

The 12.9 iPad Pro has 4GB.

Ok, we've not met but I'm certainly someone who carries a spare battery around with me (in my pack; it's for a LG G3), and have benefited from having it available. Don't use it often, but it's great to have it in those odd occasions where I run out of juice but have no ability to charge (eg on public transport). Certainly one of the features I like about the GX series, and find this more of a selling point than waterproofing (if the choice is between the two).

iPads and browser pages "auto-reloading" - is that not a RAM issue? Our years-old $250 LG G-Pad tablet does a better job of retaining open tabs in a browser than our iPad Air. Case in point - just last weekend I had a longish post I was writing on GZ; I clicked onto another tab to copy a link, returned to the original tab only to have the iPad having (what I assume is) kicked it out of memory (the page goes lighter and grey, I think?) and forces the page to reload, sans the message I wrote. For a product that cost over $1k that's crud...

My wife recently upgraded her 16GB 5S to a 64 GB 6S. She is now seriously considering getting a 64GB SE instead, and I'll pinch her 6S to replace my 5S.

Only downside I see is lack of colour choice for me. She's got the gold model, and I prefer the gun-metal grey one. But I'll learn to cope :-)

I think the only downside on the SE is the older gen touch ID its using . My iphone 6 touch ID was a little slow but 'alright'

The newer gen touch ID would of been great . Cost cutting i guess.

I can think several other downsides:

Re-hashing the body of a phone first released 4 years ago, not even bothering to update in the slightest.

Sticking with 16GB paltry storage.

Charging punters $750 for the privilege.

Is this BS normal for Apple products in NZ? I was interested in the SE until I looked at the grossly inflated NZ price.

Add in GST, freight, handing etc gets it closer to the NZ price.

Add in GST yes, but they also pay freight and handling to get them to any country including the US so that isn't a sensible justification.

That is actually one of the greatest attractions of the phone for me. I always thought the 6 design was a backwards step aesthetically speaking. This one is far more unique and attractive. When I first heard they were releasing a new 4" phone I assumed that it would look like a small iphone 6, and I only became interested in it when it turned out to have the same body as the 5S. This is one of the few designs that still stands out in a sea of generic looking phones.

Too bad it's such a rip-off here though.

The 64GB model is about a quarter cheaper than past 64GB models that I used to buy
