Haha, the whole "what am I going to do with my traditional headphones now the standard headphone port is gone" drama is telling in itself. Apple haven't taken the headphone port away from your existing iPhone. IF you CHOOSE to upgrade to a new one then you will be doing so with the knowledge that this port won't exist on the new phone. There is only so much drama about this because people are acting like buying the new iPhone is a requirement, they are compelled to buy it through some dark force and have no option other than buy it!
Nobody has the new iPhone yet so this missing port is affecting nobody currently. If you feel it is going to create a reason for such anger then perhaps buy an exploding Samsung or one of the many other smartphones on offer that DO tick the boxes of features you prioritise.
If the port is gone, then I don't see it coming back. To be honest it's been rumoured to happen for a long, long time. People have prepared. There are excellent wireless headphone options already on the market. If you're an audiophile and a stickler for extreme quality then you're not listening to music from a smartphone as it is anyway. Granted I have wireless headphones and both my vehicles have factory bluetooth for listening to my smartphone music in them, but i've also never been in a situation where I've NEEDED to listen to music and charge my phone at the same time. But I do understand that peoples usage of phones caries greatly.
Back on topic, I was tossing up between the two options as the OP. In the end I've decided to go the Jet Black way. My phone will likely be in a case most of the time anyway, as my previous ones have (currently using a Bellroy Phone Wallet for my 6 Plus), but I like the aesthetic of the Jet Black option so the possibility of having it out of its case and looking great on occasion is still there :)
