For those looking to purchase a black iPhone 7, which way are you leaning on this?

I can't decide! I like the look of the Jet Black but it also looks a bit plasticy. I think the Black might be a little more classic.

Jet Black comes with warning that it may get scratched easily... with that I'd opted for (matte) Black.. however I'm personally prefer Gold.

Next question is, when is Vodafone NZ going to do pre-order??

Because the camera lens protrudes, aren't you going to have to put it in a case anyway?

I like that the Jet Black appears like a single continuous surface surrounding the entire phone.

But scratches! It's hard to know how susceptible it will really be, and how much Apple might just be covering their asses with their little disclaimer.

I don't use cases on my phones.

OK, can we do a poll to help me decide? I'll do a reply below for each, and can you please "Like" the one you think I should get.

The camera protrudes on the 6 and 6s so I don't see why.

Personally, I don't see the point in covering a great piece of design with a case so I'll go with the matte

Think I gotta see it in person to make a firm decision, however the gloss make certainly makes me feel its more vulnerable to scratches.

Leaning towards the Matte Black.

It prevents the phone from sitting flat on a hard surface. Bugs me regardless of device. I agree though, it is always a shame to cover great design.

The jet black only appears to be available in larger capacities, so effectively you pay more if you were wanting the base model. For many the base model has enough storage unless they decide to bloat iOS in the future. I think the matt black is better, but suspect it maybe more prone to wear

You can get thin clear cases so you have the best of both worlds. The other problem is that without a case it is slippery, so at some stage will get dropped. I think anyone spending over 1 k should have it is some form of case or cover as insurance.
